Maybe Sunday morning? I don't drive the course aggressively at night anymore; couple of places where resident's sprinklers cross the apex. And although you can see approaching headlights, you cannot see someone parked, enjoying the view and maybe crossing Mul for a better look.
I pretty much stick to early morning runs in good weather and stay on my side of the double yellow. With this weather we have been having, the shady parts of some turns will still be damp and if cold enough, icy. I come off in my original post a little abruptly, can see why you might be defensive, I didn't mean to. But you don't need me to tell you the sim driver is all over the road, hitting the shoulder at one point. Having driven this stretch of Mul for 30 years, sometimes too fast and sometimes in a carpool, I know for certain you really don't want to be in the dirt with 2 wheels on the drop side. Good luck with the sim, looking forward to seeing it finished. There are many lines one can take, happy to show you mine one day in the 92 C2/5. |

watched a documentry the other night on the capitan, William Mullholland on amazon TV that chronicled his life and the st francis dam failure east of LA in 1928. had never heard of the event, or knew anything about WM. very interesting if you have an hour or so to kill in front of the TV.

Deer too. I was stopped with a group of cars near The Summit as the one in front had hit a deer. The front of his SUV was just crushed, leaking fluids. All of us urbanites stood around arguing over what to do for the poor deer, when it suddenly jumped up and ran away.

I was looking at the route between skyline and cold water. There is only two intersecting strees (on just one side of the road) and one driveway near coldwater. Not bad!

This was my response to Rich's Email:
Hi Rich, > Thanks for your good thoughts. It's been on my mind also. > This past year was quite distracting due to Plumbing troubles, Car problems, over-congested garden problems, dead trees, and the like. I have since cleared out my "too big" garden considerably. I have eliminated three of the seven Cactus Gardens. I chainsawed out almost all the dead trees numbering around 40. This has freed up more time. I finished the restoration of the 1970 El Camino and sold it. Also sold the Modena in November which helped a great deal with more space and resources. I replaced the 66 Gallon Electric Water Heater in Summer after 2 weeks of no hot water. Jane was really inspiring me to complete that job. I had to re-plumb some of the copper pipes. Then the 2" Main waterline began to leak which I had to repair. I was able to do some of the Car work but it was limited. The White 1973 Porsche is back in the House Garage where it belongs next to the Carrera. It needs new Cam Chains and Tensioners (at least). The Carrera needs a new Rear Main Seal. During the year I was able to get the needed parts to complete the 1973 Targa which is just outside the Garage Door. I gave away many of the parts that came with the car like Front and Rear Bumpers, Wheel Spacers, Turn Signal Housings, and a Whale tail, most of it to my friend the Automotive Designer named Radu. You have his painting in your living room I believe. I introduced you two at the Ferrari Owners Club Election Brunch years ago. I still have some Porsche Parts to give away like Carrera 4S Suspension with Coil-Overs and some other stuff like a Factory Hood, etc. > I still need to finish the Grandfather Clock that is half done, fix two more plumbing issues, do some metal work like complete the base for the Vertical Grand Piano and the base for the large Ceramic Fountain, and lastly finish restoring the Type 34 Spyder and the 1972 4x4 Camino Monster Truck > So, getting back to what we were originally talking about... > I agree it's time to get Cracking. > As we previously talked about we will be taking certain Chapters out of The Mulholland Experience, adding Chapters to complete the missing information, inserting at least 40 more photos, adding John Hall's Story (Chasing The Kings) as a complete Chapter, and changing the size and cover of the Book with our new Mulholland themed title.
