Deadmans had those undulating ripples going both ways. If your car was setup you could power through no problem with a bit of jounce. If the car wasnt set up you got wheel hop. Eastbound was the best since you could trail brake and keep the "R's up then tear down the straight towards Skyline.

PS'd the berm away..I'm busted. I still liked it better how it was. Sometimes progress and urbanization is not a good thing. In the name of progress and urbanization they took our turnouts away, added cattle fences and ruined some of the best views in LA. Too many signs, too many lights, added the dusk till dawn clause......

DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE BLACK THING. BUT COLOR WAS NEVER A FACTOR TO US AND WE'D HAVE NEVER NOTICED. AS LONG AS THE BURGERS WERE GOOD.

Jacopo's on the corner of moorpark and woodman. When a a-hole client would call in, they would spit on the pizza before putting it in the oven!
I always remembered to tip well to OTHER pizza places after seeing that! They probably were responsible for its demise"

Grand Pooh-bah

No,no,no,no,no,no. It was Gallo's Pizza and I worked there with Glen & Rich making our specialty, "Skull & Crossbones Pizza's" Special flavoring? I never heard or saw that. Remember I ate there too.
OH YEAH GALLOS. THAT WAS IT. WE CALLED GALLOWS I BELIEVE.
THEY COULD MAKE A DANGED GOOD PIZZA. WE ATE QUITE A FEW AND ARE STILL HERE TODAY.

Actually I kind of liked the Datsun 1200 in the handling department, but that Mustang was definitely a ball to drive. I redid the fenders in the quanset hut after a few incidents, but Ryals may have known Gardner and helped him out before I got the rolling chassis. I just found some pics of us all that I'll have to scan this week. I can Email you the hi rez versions. Stay tuned.

Last Sunday March 11 2007, I hosted an event with The Ferrari Owners Club that started in La Canada at the Sports Chalet parking lot. Our run went up to Angeles Crest to Palmdale to Canyon Country. What a beautiful day for a run. Being Vice President and event coordinator of the Ferrari Club has been a blast. I get to plan great runs like this one, lead the pack, and end up at great places to eat. It dosn't get better than that.

We even had an F40 join us Sunday for our spirited run. Awesome!

Here we are stopping near the 14 freeway headed west. We just finished our forest drive and are now headed for Bouquet and San Francisquito Canyons. It was cool to see 17 Ferraris blasting through the forest at 120 mph. I do about 3 of these events per year. Check out www.FerrariOwnersClub.us Come and join in on the fun. On my events Porsches are of course always welcome. I'm bringing my RSR when it's checked out so that I can teach those Ferraris a lesson. Watch out for the tight stuff.......I'm gonna spank their little Italian butts.

Hey Banning,
Got a confession to make:
Last Saturday morning I could not sleep so I decided to jump in the car and do a little spying on the italians.... It took me a while to get there and by the time I found you guys you were just turning on PCH. I was out of gas but I decided to chase you for several miles anyway. I.even took some pix (I'll post them when I get home). I pulled into the first gass station I could find and that was the end of it.

Probably true. The owners, from Chicago, were white. We ate at various hamlets all over, and always noticed that the servers were african american. Palm Springs, Beverly Hills, Chicago- all the same. I liked it - without the risk of sounding racist- it was a lot cooler !

i remember when the guy that used to own it was cruising the streets in the valley- especially the interesting pin striping on the top of the car!

Hi gostraight,
I'm happy that you joined in on some of the fun. We had a Porsche Carrara GT with us recently, what an awesome car.

The Hamburger Hamlet is still there. I was ate there a couple of weeks ago.

Regarding the servers, I was just passing on a bit of info about HH. I was surprised to hear that as well.

I have no idea when the fences went up, but most of the look out areas have them now.

Spirited run? Heck of lot of Horse-Spirit going on. Chris I think you have been spoiled. Life just gets better doesn't it?
