Thanks Jeff, and remember life gets better with whats on the inside, good attitude, confidence, contentment, self worth, and of course good health.

You know, a car club could be created just from those that posted to this thread.

As an afterthought:
The people that have posted to this thread have great stories. To those I would say that they are articulate, knowledgable, interesting, memorable, and have fantastic memories(both in the capacity to remember and their own experiences). I again want to thank all of you for sharing the past with all of us.

Banning...

On your 911 you indicated in an earlier post that the top wasn't chopped/stock windshield but laid back. Where did you remove the sheet metal? Was the rear window cut down?

Thanks in advance...enjoying the ride down memory lane.

The roof is really quite extraordinary and unique. Sheet metal was removed at the back of the roof at the rear window. This was done concurrently while the front roof was cut at the base and top of the stock windshield. Then the top of the window glass with the roof loosely attatched was evenly pushed back about six inches, effectively lowering the overall roofline by two inches. Then the rear window location was re-set in the same spot but made flush with the roof for aerodynamics. The drip rails were cut off and smoothed for the same reason. Except for the windshield and door windows, all glass was replaced with bulletproof Lexan. The T6 alloy rollcage was then fabricated along the new roofline. This new profile combined with the acid dipping, cage, and added gusseting/bracing is what makes this chassis so special. Without these modifications it would just be another RSR.

Thanks for the explanation...with all the rage about backdating cars now, it can't be too long before someone tries to duplicate your car

What a beautiful day for a run. Being Vice President and event coordinator of the Ferrari Club has been a blast. I get to plan great runs like this one, lead the pack, and end up at great places to eat. It dosn't get better than that.

We even had an F40 join us Sunday for our spirited run. Awesome!

Here we are stopping near the 14 freeway headed west. We just finished our forest drive and are now headed for Bouquet and San Francisquito Canyons. It was cool to see 17 Ferraris blasting through the forest at 120 mph. I do about 3 of these events per year. Check out www.FerrariOwnersClub.us Come and join in on the fun. On my events Porsches are of course always welcome. I'm bringing my RSR when it's checked out so that I can teach those Ferraris a lesson. Watch out for the tight stuff.......I'm gonna spank their little Italian butts.

THOUGHT ALL OF THE RACE FREAKS WOULD ENJOY AN UPCOMING FILM FESTIVAL THAT IS BEING HELD IN MADERA (ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF CALIF OFF OF HWY 99). SHOWING ARE OLD RACING FILMS, FAMOUS AND INFAMOUS CAR FILMS, BEHIND THE SCENES FILMS, ETC. QUITE A COLLECTION! AND A REALLY GOOD EXCUSE FOR ANOTHER FAMOUS ROAD TRIP!

http://www.southernyosemite.com/

TAKE A LOOK AT THE 'GUESTS'. YOU'LL FIND SOME NAMES MENTIONED ON THIS THREAD! EVEN PICTURES OF CARS WE'VE SPOKEN OF ON THIS THREAD. SMALL WORLD ISN'T. THE MAN BEHIND THIS PROJECT IS MY OLD TEAM OWNER WHEN WE RAN THE SHOWROOM STOCK ENDURANCE RACES BACK IN THE 80'S.

WE ADDED UP OUR 'ENDURANCE RACES' AND IN ONE YEAR BETWEEN THE SCCA EVENTS AND THE IMSA FIRESTONE EVENTS WE RAN:
6 X 24 HOUR RACES, 4 X 12 HOUR RACES AND 6 X 6 HOUR RACES.
TALK ABOUT SEAT TIME! WHAT AN ERA AND A DREAM FOR A GUY FROM MULHOLLAND.

I've got a Riverside T shirt and the list of people who have driven there is impressive. Personally, I won the last National race there.

Here's a picture of Riverside today I thought was interesting.

Wolin puttin that show on? How cool is that! Here' one not to be missed-
http://www.southernyosemite.com/racescene.htm

This was Garners 69 documentary that focused on his A.I.R. team(s) that year-including the L88 vette's,T-70's and F5000 effort, even has some AMC baja stuff.Includes great footage from Daytona,Mosport,Tremblant..including John Surtees himself shaking down the 5000 car at I believe Snetterton. He went through cash like Sherman through Atlanta and didn't finish the year but what a ride it must have been while it lasted! They had a big deal at the Peterson three years ago re releasing this movie- was who's who of So cal road racing-Dick Guldstrand,Bondurant,Garner-all the team drivers attended(Leslie,Mothenbascher,Jordan&Scooter Patrick) and producer Andy Sidaris(yep George M,Drew's pop!)who also produced WW of Sports had some great stories from the filming. For those who don't know James Garner was intimate with mulholland, I remember seeing him up there in a 67 Cooper S??.He also got in a fist fight up there-right in the middle of the road with some guy that he brake checked?? I'm sure someone else can elaborate further on that one but that movie is NOT TO BE MISSED!

New York Street. The pillared building barely visible on the right is known world wide as Gotham City Hall if was viewed head on. Its one of the oldest permanent sets in LA County. Filmed from the right (ER) and viewed from the left (Blade Runner)
and a host of others for the past 77 years.

Perfect place for the Red Head

This photo is from last years Monterey Concorso taken by Larry O'Rourke who used to live right above the Sweeper. He loved to race Mulholland and watch the racing from his house above the racetrack. He is still very much involved with cars and has won numerours awards in car shows. I believe that he won an award last August in Monterey with his Prancing Horse.

Isn't that a beautiful Porsche in the photograph?

Note: chime on in if you are reading this Larry.

Here's Larry with Jay Leno at last years Monterey Concorso.

Nice looking car!

Here are a few pictures of Mulholland Dr. at the top of Reseda Blvd. (Was named Rustic Canyon when M.D. was first developed.)

DAYUM...I remember going there in ther 60's as a little feller with my dad to see a NASCAR race. IIRC Gurney and P. Jones were duking it out. Must have been '63 0r '64. It was in the middle of NOWHERE. SHEESH, I'm getting old
