Yes, thank you. Infact, KevinP73 asked for a copy too. He worked for Kelly and I'm afraid I don't have much experience in converting anything to anything (money & relationships included).

Hey, one of the guys in the video of the CLK DTM sounded like Knoll (not sure how to spell his name). Anyone know this guy, i've only spoken to him a few times up there.

Also...in the video of the CLK DTM. Even though he gets stuck behind someone...I timed how long it took him to get up the hill back to the look out point. Not very impressive given the amount of power and grip he had. He made it up (he did have to pass someone) in ~2:28 seconds. Let's just say "i've heard" of a fairly stock miata that makes it up the hill in the same amount of time ;-)

Ask a CLK DTM driver all about the details this Saturday morning at Starbucks in Montrose. Be early. Most folks are there by 7AM and gone by 9AM.

I think so, in the credits it's says thanks to Noel.He has a yellow GT3 and Evo IIIV.Nice guy,he hangs at the Vista point at the top of Stunt.I stop and chat with him usually on my way mountainbiking on the backbone trail. That spot is ground zero for clandestine racing, very much like the days of old on the east end.

Curious what lookout and "hill" are you referencing in that "time"?

Thanks for a great day today guys. I enjoyed meeting you all and the drive on Mulholland is always fun, especially with someone fast driving along with you. My wife Jane and I stayed at the Fox and Hounds until just Radu(gostraight) and Dave(slodave) were left. We left at about 8:30 and took Mulholland home. See you again sometime..

Chris, Thank you so much for coming out today (Jane too)! Even though I stayed in the back to play sweeper, I enjoyed the fact that you were somewhere up front and the time spent at the Fox and Hounds was priceless as well! Next time, I'll be up front jockeying for #2.

For those of you that drove Mulholland with your lights out - you guys are friggen nuts! I decided to turn my lights - they went on 2 seconds later. I could not see a thing! Granted, the moon is almost gone.

Chris, that little trick at Coldwater and Franklin was pretty cool

That's what I was referring to. That is the Mulholland/Coldwater Cyn./Franklin Cyn. intersection.

Yea, to the left of the center divider island

I was behind you Kevin! I figured, what the hell, there's nobody in the way and these guys are doing it so...

I felt like such a hooligan.

SLODAVE, Well geez Dave it had to be on a full moon night!

By the way, the CRE group was known to practice our
dirt drifting skills on 'Dirt Franklin' just off of Mulholland.
There is probably million dollar houses on it now. It's been
a danged long time since I took a drive down Dirt Franklin.

Carrot juice. Great for night vision.

The trick was back then we had no streetlights up there at all except at Laurel, Skyline, Coldwater, Java, Beverly Glen and directly in front of the fire stations. The lights didn't go up at Grandstands or Bowmont until 1984. EVERYTHING was dark.

Our eye's adjusted quickly. Dim your dash lights- your forward vision was better because you didn't get any reflections off the inside of the windshield or side glass. Always had a window cracked so ears were on too.

Remember that stuff called Rain-X sold by Ron-Co? That stuff really did work.

Last and most important. With practice we knew every curve and bump in the road. Just like walking through the house late at night without turning on any lights. (watch out toes)

Personally I enjoyed the fog lights out. That really freaked people.

Remember the transition from Mulholland west at lower Coldwater going east ? We could roll up, quick look left blow the stop sign and go before the lights were installed.

Same thing at Benedict with the 3 way stop before the light got put in. Even before that was no stop sign on Mulholland at that location. Just go go go...........

Now it's roll up on the right next to waiting cars, quick look left and right, and hammer the accelerator.

the whole car just messes with your head. QUOTE]

Cortez & Pat will remember this one. There was a guy who would show up on Mulholland occasionally who nobody would even try to go after (actually two cars I can think of). "The One Eyed Peugeot". He'd go tearing past the pits while everybody just stood there as the whole event looked just too dangerous. It was a Peugeot 404 and by god he was going fast (for a 404 Peugeot, anyway).

I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT WAS PETER FALK, aka Columbo.

He always sat at the counter in Tiny N's at Laural Canyon and Ventura Bl.

Yeah Chris, in the early 70's I worked for a Import Parts retailer
and we had these Datusn 520 and 620 delivery trucks.

We made a few 'runs' on Dirt Mulholland. Although we were not regulars on the dirt section.

Those trucks worked extremely well on Dirt Mulholland.
Very toss-able.
Much better than the independent rear suspension 510's.

As part of our learning curve we were simply learning how to
do things with cars.
