Yep, Dave B is up there both days. Kevin and I will be doing the swap meet on Sunday. Sorry, no caravan cause we are driving the rent-a-van. So, all Mulholland guys are welcome to have a wild time in the swap meet stall of the TRE boys!

Hey Mulhollanders... check this thread for pics from myself, dave, and radu while at German Auto Fest in Ventura. You're in there too, Jeremy.

Here's a teaser

Looks like you guys had fun in Ventura. Great pics. Radu had some extra fun posing. I especially like the custom Speedster with the miniature Frieghtliner mirrors half way down the doors (way cool). Bummer of the day was the wreck.

Drive safe!

It was a fun day indeed. The best part was the drive back... Radu and I coming back on Mulholland Hwy from PCH to Topanga Cyn.

Woohoo!

Oh, and sorry to freak you out, Dave.

Were with you Dave....Two weeks!

Honestly it was probably good for Dave. He needed a distraction from "tensioner week". We all know its frustrating when a car is down and the plan doesn't go as planned. Long for S.N.A.F.U.........

Thumbs up

My god what a thread! I got put onto this thread by a teaser shot of Mr Banning's laidback RSR on VW Vortex. I've just read the whole thread and wish that I was there instead of down here in Australia. There is more history here then I have ever seen on any other automotive website. Those who have posted their memories, I thankyou.

Hey Banning,
You need to get your RSR back up and running ASAP. Why? Somebody needs to contact EXCELLENCE about this thread and your car and Mulholland and such. Am I crazy to push this idea?

Oh, and what happened to the reality show idea?

It's late, i'm bored. Kill me.

If there is a get together tomorrow night, there is a chance I can be there. Marco is going to prime the new tenioners tomorrow and then we'll install them late afternoon. Re-checked the cam timing and all is fine.

My right tensioner needs a cleaning and then can be a coffee table center piece or an expensive paperweight.

Radu,
The Octane Gallery is great. Much better layout that compliments your talents.

Funny thing Radu. Your pic reminds me of Milts slogan/avatar "Ghetto by the sea- Planet stupid". Some other poster who lives up by me uses "North of SmelLA". It’s just funny how true these are. In the early 1970's they had smog alerts. They told us if we go outside we could die. In elementary school they would hold us hostage and not let us play outside due to the brown air. It was much worse back then. Now the air is yellow/ brown and better for you.

Sometimes I am convinced we live on Planet stupid. People making right turns from the left turn lane, etc.

I was at Pick Up Stix tonight for dinner. The tab was $21.50. I hand the cashier two $40 bills. She gives me change consisting of a $20 a $10 a $5 three $1's and two quarters. Being the nice guy that I am I ask her if she is sure this the correct change? She looks at the change laid out on the counter with a bewildered look and apologizes for the mistake. She then took the $5 bill back and replaced it with a $10 bill. Welcome to Planet Stupid.

I cannot let the cashier get the best of herself. I ask again if this is correct adding doesn't the register tell you how much the change is by subtracting the bill from the amount tendered? All I got was that "Private Pyle expression" and silence. A synaptic cleft later she responds with "are you saying I gypped you"? "I can add in my head you know because I had arith-a-matics"! I grab a pen on the counter and write A R I T H M E T I C on a napkin and hand it to her without saying a word. Welcome to Planet Stupid.

About ten minutes later after I have received my meal the same cashier comes over to the table and proceeds to tell me I was mean to her. Politely I explain to her that I was trying to help her. I came into the restaurant with $40 in my wallet. I have received my meal and now I have $43.50 in my wallet and she has been the most wonderful cashier I have ever met. She now beams with a smile and walks away. Welcome to Planet Stupid.

Gypped? Who uses the word gypped anymore? Arith-a-matics? I have to wonder where the world is headed?

Yes Milt you are correct! Planet Stupid.

that is sooo funny!!! I love stories like that.

I got a better idea ! Derek and I were talking tonight about a German invasion @ BOB BIG BOY next friday! I was there last friday and it was fun. OK ,I was the only german / romanian guy but if we get together and show up with Banning's RSR plus 15 other porsches, that would be awesome. What do you guys think? We can go in a recon this Friday. I'll be there.
