I can't speak for anyone else but right now any extra time that I have needs to be spent completing the edit to The Mulholland Experience, and completing any missing information along with Victor's help. We could be done by the end of the year and ready to print the 2nd Edition soon thereafter.

If you check out the map of the park the main road coarse is an uncanny clone (somewhat) to the original track with a few added features. (40 possible variations of the course) that can be quickly changed for different types of racing. 1200 acres for multi-motorsport use.

Check out the sight. A business associate up in Santa Maria has been to the location and says its the real McCoy. Upon inspection of the planning prints he said it was like seeing a ghost except better.

Some top dogs are involved with this project. I am sure when it is completed it will be something.

Well, I...uh...know a little about the proposed track and you should know that
the CEO claims that the famous Turn 9, the long back straight with a fast left hand kink and the elevated Turn 6 of the original Riverside cannot be duplicated.

This due to the insurance companies and motorcycle racers not wanting a banked turn 9. The insurance not wanting a long back straight and other
'things' that hinder duplicating the original turn 6.

I'd STRONGLY suggest that everyong YELL and SCREAM via E-mails about keeping the original RIR layout as close as possible to the remake at RMP.

I never had much faith in them although most of them are still standing today. I still do not trust them because they lacked diagonal triangulation.

My mom has a high school friend who was a contractor and built many of the "Stilt Homes". I remember as a kid visiting one and him saying "people have no right putting a house on the side of a mountain in mid air". I also remember Irwin Allen's movie Earthquake where they all fell down.

I came across this photo of homes under construction on Mulholland. Reminds me of that quote long ago. Notice to the right some nut is on a swing off the balcony?



Judging by the backdrop this appears to be east of Laurel Cyn.

Lots of catching up to do here. Where to start....

First, congratulations to Tom Pabst on the nice segment on his driving simulator that Speed ran during the Sears Point Rolex Grand -Am race. And congratulations to Alex gurney and Jon Fogarty for winning the championship at Miller. Tom, I will have more Riverside pics for you soon.

The Bob's meet looked like fun, I liked the Lotus 47 I spotted in one photo. I always wanted one but I would never fit. The Tucker is, and isn't, real, depending on how you look at it. It is a true steel Tucker built at the factory but was never finished. It was bought unfinished after the shut down and fitted to an Olds chassis, engine in front. It was later fitted with a 390 Mercury engine.

Dave, I remember helping you guys pull the engine out of the Cobra when you guys first got it. I remember very well the nice curve the weight of the engine made in the arm of the cherry picker as we maneuvered that huge 427 iron lump over the lovely bare aluminum nose. I had these visions of the arm buckling and the engine just squashing that nose like a bug. Uhhhhhh, still makes me shiver.

I was at the PV Concours last week and didn't realize Jimi was there with a car. I just didn't read the info cards in front of the cars or the program until I got home. Pretty good show though, the area was kind of small but a good selection of cars. Not Pebble Beach but that's not a bad thing either.

That car in the photo of the stilt house kind of looks like a Hillman Minx convertible. When was the last time you saw one of those?

Thanks Kurt, I appreciate that. I only was able to get info from Jeff Coleman about the TVL. I will pm you soon with my email address. We need to have more complete information about the TVL and the groups preceeding them like the CRE and the MRA.

Also, Jeremy might be able to get me in touch with his brother Tony who was also in the TVL. What do you say Jeremy? Tell Tony that I rarely talk to Brad anymore and I try not to pick sides when it comes to friends. Thanks.

wow... seems i've missed a lot of stuff in the last couple of weeks. i'll be back in town early next week chock full of stories about the belgian gp, driving the nurburgring, and doing handbrake turns down (very) steep switchbacks on greek islands. i can't wait to catch up with you guys.
