For Dave B.
Not exactly Mulholland related, but germaine to a participant on this thread: I came across this in my neighborhood in the Valley while walking the dog a couple evenings ago.

Those are imprints of a pair of kid's shoes. Last name is "Bouzaglou," and it turns out the shoes seemed to have belonged to a relative of one of the posters on this thread.

New to Thread
Maxmini pointed me to this thread at a small car meet in Santa Clarita. I was up at Mul from ~73 to ~ 80. I had a few set-up cars, but was not a real racer; just did a little spirited driving up there and a little autocross. Still a car guy though.
Wow, I see alot of names and cars that I remember; even one I traded my car for to Ron C. I see the name of the guy I sold an RX3 and 2002 to also. ...my wife keeps asking me why I am laughing and saying "I remember that" when I read this thread |

Here's some interesting news from the fast lane. What do you think?
Still think I would perfer a Porsche for some reason. Yep! Steven Tyler clearly prefers life in the fast lane. The “American Idol” judge and Aerosmith frontman added to his rewarding year by buying the world’s fastest street-legal car, a $1.1 million hand-built convertible known as The Hennessey Venom GT Spyder. ![]() One of only five 2013 models to be made, Tyler’s is the sole convertible of the batch, and is able to accelerate to 200 mph in 15.9 seconds. The musician came to the car’s makers with specific drop-top and motor requests, and accordingly, the car was custom-made based on the standard Venom GT prototype. ![]() “We had to make a few structural changes to our integrated rollcage in order to be able to fit the removable top,” John Hennessey, the car’s creator and owner of Hennessey Performance Engineering, told Yahoo! Autos.“This increased the weight of our vehicle by about 30 pounds to a curb weight of 2743 pounds (1244 kilograms). We decided to increase the Venom GT's power to 1244 bhp to maintain our 1 horsepower per 1 kilogram power to weight ratio." ![]() Tyler’s sleek and angled two-door black roadster can accelerate faster than any other vehicle, maxing out at 275 mph and beating Bugatti’s Veyron by 8 mph. Basic versions cost $950,000, but the rock star’s rendition crossed the million dollar mark due to his removable hardtop roof. Additionally, the car had to be reformed to meet his request for a 7.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine. |

If you love Porsches, and I can guess we all do since this is a Porsche forum/thread then you should see this special Porsche.
I thought it quite impressive and beautiful. I love the interior. ![]() Here is an excerpt: We first placed our hands on Singer's "reimagined Porsche 911" nearly three years ago when it made its world debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Shortly thereafter, we caught up with the company's orange prototype for a photo shoot in the Los Angeles basin. While we were both intrigued and impressed with the sports car at the time, full disclosure admits that we were very skeptical about the start-up back in September 2009. Sadly, we've watched this industry shatter far too many dreams. But Singer has prospered. Very well, it appears. More info here: Porsche 911 restored by Singer [w/video] |

A friend from Northern California sent me this disturbing news from his local weekend car show. Our worst nightmare. We must be cautious around those of limited intellect. I feel sorry for those beautiful cars.
A classic Pontiac Le Mans owner arrives at a Car Show early in order to get this good display spot. ![]() Then, the next classic car, a '40 Ford shows up and grabs the second stall... ![]() Next, this car plows through. She was texting while driving through the mall parking lot!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() She was soooo busy texting, she didn't notice the curb and shrubs she was about to jump. She never touched the brake, and kept her foot on the gas pedal even after impact. |

Car shows
The airbag probably didn't deploy since she is obviously just as retarded when it comes to servicing saftey checks like the airbag condition. Please god take her drivers license away, what if she had crashed into a 917 or similar?
One more reason I don't take the Carrera to Supercar Sunday. Way too dangerous. We'll stick to Mul, no pun intended. |

Man, that is tragic, hopefully the driver hit their head hard enough to knock some sense into them, my money is on "probably not."

The only positive thing I can say about that is at least it was unintentional. Here at Caffeine and Octane our idiots wreck their own cars (most recently a Lamborghini) doing burnouts and other stupid pet tricks for the exit crowd.

It seems like she would need some decent speed to displace those cars sideways like that.

Isn't that story a few years old? Still, a good wake-up for us all!
