Did you guys see the one last night with the interview scenario?

Oh man the way he leans back and shakes his head, i'm laughing just thinking about it!

Brilliant stuff, absolutely brilliant.

Also love the 'put my mother on speaker' bit as well. Unlike many commercial sets these keep getting better!

Those commercials are so easy to understand, even a caveman can get it.

Speaking as someone FROM New England. . . there's no such thing as "new" New England money.

Anyway, they're a little bit amusing I guess, but I'd hardly consider them "unforgettable". This ad campaign will be forgotten about a week after they stop it. I guess the Gecko guy was getting old or something. . . From what I hear, Geico's claim pay-out procedure absolutely blows too. They're great until you need 'em. Or so I've heard. They'd probably drum up more business by trying to do something about that - or the public perception of it.

Commercials are why I bought Tivo. Life has been better since. I'm lucky to have even seen those commercials at all - must have been during sports events or something else I watch "live".

i really like those ads. the juxtaposition of what's expected of them and the showing that they are 'just like us' is funny. tennis bag w/ a *wooden* racquet, sophisticated menu choices... as if we expected for him to eat a roasted leg of animal, flintstones-style LOL...

btw,
who sings that airport song?

These commercials are far better than the junk that's on TV between them...

Internally, Geico says: "I just saved a bunch of money not paying claims..."

Doesn't matter what you think. You noticed. How many commercials have you endured only to realize you have no idea who they were for? (My family was in the advertising business from 1927 to 1984. I have a degree in marketing.)

It's his facial expressions that kill me in all of them.

Especially the interview, when he leans back in the chair.

Also, some of these commercials have been playing for months. I don't think they'll be gone in a week. IIRC, the airport & restaurant are the oldest??? Then the interview followed by the psyc. office.

"My mother's calling, I'll put it on speaker." Hysterical!!!

My father-in-law have this discussion frequently. We both more-or-less agree that most advertising is wasted money. Great, we're all talking about Geico. That doesn't mean squat if it doesn't result in a gain in sales greater than the cost of the ad campaign.

They are using both the Caveman and the Gecko commercials.

Warren Buffet says he loves both.

Click on the links that I posted above for the tennis/squash racket airport bit...
