The consultants are looking at Mrs. FT right now. I see less cleavage in the future and a less blond look. Nothing the matter with being young and pretty. The voting population, or rather the people that vote are fairly conservative. If FT can articulate a good message that appeals to them, he just might win.

I guess I could find plenty of definitions for the word n*gger and we could debate whether it would apply to Obama or any other black politician, but that wouldn't justify the slur, would it? I find it disappointing that the mud slinging machine is revving up so quickly. The guy hasn't even declared for Christ's sake... Sometimes I wonder, do the Dems who are trying to talk about FT's "Trophy wife" really think it is better to have an illicit affair with a woman 25+ years your younger rather than actually....marry her?

Tom Tancredo has the right stance on immigration. Ditto on the middle east, but it seems his candidacy has languished.

I think you'll find the term Trophy-Wife is much older than the 80's. I heard it thrown around as a kid, usually describing good looking eye candy who didn't bring much to the marriage otherwise, and supported a corporate husband.

if you're a terrorist or a nutcase or anyone who really shouldn't have a gun, you would love not having background checks done at shows. If we're really in a War on Terror, make it more than a bumper sticker. Make it really hard for anyone to get guns who shouldn't have guns. BTW, I love guns, I just don't mind the wait or the check. It's part of my sacrifice being a free citizen in a time of War. And what's with the soft on crime "Voted NO on more penalties for gun & drug violations". That's exactly what this country needs, softer penalties on some of the worst criminals.

We don't need more penalties for these crimes. They are already "Rockefeller" enough. What we need is enforcement of what we have.
2nd Amendment isn't about Collecting or Hunting. Terrorists and drug dealers are not buying guns from gun dealers. Psychopaths maybe are. But the number of VT Psychopaths are minimal. And part of those acts the psuchopaths commit are created when you make self defense free zones.

Background checks are fine for store purchases or interstate transfers. But they make it kind of hard to wheel and deal at gun shows where collectors and serious shooters find a lot of stuff they can't find in stores. Criminals don't submit to background checks and such a check has never ever prevented a crime, nor would it have prevented John Hinckley from getting his gun, had there been NICS checks back then. It's a feel-good, do-nothing law. BTW, plenty of states require no NICS check for face-face sales between non-FFL dealers who are both residents of the same state. So requiring NICS checks at gun shows might shut down gun shows, but would not even come close to preventing a real criminal from getting a gun very easily by other means.
