I swore to never post on or start a Paris Hilton thread, but DRUNK ELEPHANTS??????
Civilization as we know it has ended. From AP wire:
ALCOHOL, ELEPHANTS DON'T MIX Paris Hilton is being praised by conservationists for highlighting the problem of binge-drinking elephants in India. Activists said a celebrity endorsement such as Hilton's was sure to raise awareness of the plight of the pachyderms that get drunk on farmers' homemade rice beer and then go on a rampage. "The elephants get drunk all the time. It is becoming really dangerous. We need to stop making the alcohol available to them," the 26-year-old socialite said in a report posted World Entertainment News Network's web site. Guess its part of her community service....sheeeeesh |

God, I'm glad that Paris brought this to our attention. I was wondering last weekend when I saw a drunk PINK elephant in my yard. I thought it was me who was drunk, but now I'm glad to know it was the other way around. Thanks Paris, keep up the campaign, and guys, we now have an excuse for our late nights; drunk elephants.

In parts of Africa drunken elephants are, in fact, a real problem. They eat some native citris fruit (I forget what it's called) that appears to be particularly apt to ferment in their stomachs. They turn into living, breathing, walking stills when it combines with all the roughage in there. I hear they are actually pretty harmless when drunk, but when the hangover sets in, look out.
