anyone who doesn't believe in evolution shouldn't be allowed to live in the U.S.

We just don't need obscenely stupid people living in this country.

Ah, the voice of tolerance and moderation. We need more people like you to replace the haters you would kick out, eh?

I've had a lot of respect for him too. A lot of his views, particularly on economic matters and I-wreck made sense to me.

However, a MEDICAL DOCTOR (scientist) who doesn't believe in natural selection is someone I'm not even going to go see for a splinter, much less trust my country to.

I will check his web site later; if I find out that these claims that he "doesn't believe in evolution" are true, he's getting crossed off my list along with Romney, McCain and all the (D) candidates.

This election is turning out to be another disgusting "least of evils" deal again when this country really needs "best person for the job". It's sealing the fate of our nation.

I agree we don't need stupid people here. But making you the judge of what constitutes stupid is....well....pretty stupid IMHO.

I couldn't care less if someone believes in evolution or not, since it has nothing to do with government and would especially be unrelated to government under a Paul administration.

I never understood why people who have such a problem with Romney's or Huckabee's religions don't have the same problem with Hillary or Obama being communists but not calling themselves such. At least one could make the case that devoutly religious folks don't want to use the gov't. to ram their ideology down eveyone's throat. The leading Dems in the race want to do exactly that and make no secret of it.

Are you actually saying that "Hillary or Obama (are) communists" or was that a characterization of other people's words?

Let me ask you another question: Did the American people have more stuff "ram...down their throats" over the past 7 years or the previous 8 years?

It's not me being the judge Rick, it's every educated person in this country. and it's an incredibly low bar.

Not believing in evolution has everything to do in turning this country into an intellectual backwater, a place where you can have a beer with the President, a place where every kid on the team gets a trophy, a country of losers where everyone is made to feel special "just because."

They are all incestuously linked together.

We don't need obscenely stupid people in the U.S.

Wow Shaun.... are you pulling our leg (again) or have you really turned into a hate monger?

I don't want to drag this thread into a religious debate I suggest you think hard about your statement.

"Anyone who doesn't believe as I do is obscenely stupid and should be thrown out of the country"

Sounds like you are advocating fascism.

PLAISTOW, N.H. -- Ron Paul said the decision to exclude him from a debate on Fox News Sunday the weekend before the New Hampshire Primary is proof that the network "is scared" of him.

"They are scared of me and don't want my message to get out, but it will," Paul said in an interview at a diner here. "They are propagandists for this war and I challenge them on the notion that they are conservative."

Paul's staff said they are beginning to plan a rally that will take place at the same time the 90-minute debate will air on television. It will be taped at Saint Anselm College in Goffstown.

"They will not win this skirmish," he promised.

The Fox debate occurs less than 24 hours after two back to back Republican and Democratic debates on the same campus sponsored by ABC News, WMUR-TV and the social networking website Facebook.

Paul, the Republican Texas Congressman, was wrapping up his final day of campaigning in New Hampshire until the Iowa Caucuses on Thursday.

He spent much of the day campaigning at diners in Manchester and Plaistow and downtown walks in Derry and Exeter.

This is what happens when you go "off message". You get silenced. And to be fair, I just saw the film "An Unreasonable Man" which showed how the Dems did the same thing to Nader. In the same documentary, Pat Buchanan said our democracy is a "fraud". The consolidation of political power in America offends both the left and the right.

Nothing surprising about that.

Recall what happened during the debate that FOX covered when Hannity and crew made fun of Paul and basically wrote him off. Unfortunately for themselves, FOX and Hannity stupidly presented a poll where viewers could call and say who they thought won the debate.

OOPS. Paul was by far the over-whelming winner and Team FOX pretended that it didn't happen!

This move by Fox makes perfect sense. The Liberal MSM is scared to death of Ron Paul.

Whether or not a person believes in natural selection is of little consequence. It is the degree to which they believe or do not believe that would concern me since close mindedness on one subject can indicate that kind of mindset in other areas as well.

Do I believe in natural selection? Yes. Why? because it is logical and has quite a bit of data to back it up. Is the data completely conclusive in all cases? No. Is there ever enough data to satisfy some people either way? Most likely not. One has to "fill in the blanks" sometimes in order to reach a conclusion. Many things we use and many we have discovered are not fully understood, but they work and we accept them.

So many mysteries, so little time.

Ron Paul's stance on the theory of evolution is not an uneducated one. Obviously he is not some stupid backwoods religious nut. He is simply skeptical, and I can respect his position (THOUGH I PERSONALLY DON'T AGREE WITH HIM). He is positing a kind of agnosia, or stating that we *CAN'T* know for sure, no matter how many times you prove it in a lab or design an experiment to test it.

You can't *prove* the theory of evolution *DIRECTLY* in a lab. You can have some conclusions about living things that line up extremely well with the theory, but you can never actually prove evolution. It's simply a healthy dose of skepticism.

IMHO, everyone in this country needs this guy. Skepticism is very healthy for a body of citizens. If everyone had been a little more skeptical about going to war in Iraq, maybe we wouldn't be there.

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."
-Thomas Jefferson

My 2 cents.

Linguini with clam sauce leftover from Christmas Eve...terrible heartburn will make you do terrible things. At least that's what I'm going to tell the judge.
