I'm sorry I meant to say I didn't call her an idiot to her face.. I didn't think I'd have to clarify that, but apparently I do...

in general, one of you sound like a crappy date. politics and religion are no-no topics.
Uhm normally I agree and don't discuss politics, I ask enough questions to figure out where they are,, but I found the level of not being informed yet having an opinion amazing..
With regard to religion, on a really good date one of us is usually screaming 'OH GOD" LOL..

Oh and Tim, I'd add hunting into the no religion, or politics, I never discuss that more than asking if they wear fur or eat meat ( just to find out the level of hypocracy we might be dealing with LOL).. Normally I just smile and keep my mouth shut ;-)

Actually most "non-Americans" think that those that support Bush are the ones that are un-informed." I am married to a Swiss and travel their frequently enough to get a general European opinion.
You might have trouble with this one domestically and abroad.

(Coming from a Reagan Republican -my college years..)

Forget about politics with dates and focus on getting laid!

And that just makes me even prouder to be an American. If most Europeans agreed with my views, I'd have to seriously rethink my entire political philosophy.

The essence of a Bush supporter, in a quip. Isolationist, arrogant, anti-intellectual and obstinate, but proud of it. Add in non-cosmopolitan and incurious about the world and you have the bulk of the dumber half of all red-state voters who were easily scared and influenced by the GOP ads during the last two campaigns that promised them a better life w/ Bush. They are getting what they bought right now.

I a couple of dates with a huge boobed chick with a Master's in Chemistry, working on her phd. She was doing this at USCD, so I figured she was pretty smart. This was a match dot com date.

1st date, no problem, and got the nookie! My favorites little wine bar was walking distance her place and seemed to always end in a good night of nookie. My Favorite waiter at the place called me a slut one night due the to the number of 1st dates I'd taken there.

ANYWAY, 2nd date we got talking about what she was working on. She did reef chemistry, looking into the problems of when a reef is being bleached, etc. She brings up the ozone layer, and how were killing it, etc.

No problem, I agree.

Then she starts on to how it is causing global warming. (Sound of needle being abruptly dragged across a record). No. Lack of Ozone = more UV, not more heat being retained.

We back and forth on this, and I explain the thermodynamics of heating, cooling, etc.

She hits me with the "Well, that is the way 'lay-people' think." I think I've been insulted. My BS in Mechanical/Nuclear Engineering with a minor in Chemistry, and not a "hard science" scubu-chick, means I'm a lay person.

Soon after I got a headache, and so did she. No more nookie.

The ONLY reference I've seen to a tie in the polling is on the Rasmussen Reports (link below). Although this is encouraging, even they themselves seem skeptical of it, putting the following disclaimer on their web site:

. . . snip . . .
This Newsweek poll has them in a statistical tie:

But, these are all just polls . . .

Hey, we have "dates" and "polls" in he same thread, but in the wrong way.

So in CA the odds must go down by what 500 to 1 if you can't nail a leftie?

No one here has faked their political association in order to get some?

This is not about Bush or Obama, it's about how much yammering you can take before you pull the ejection lever and bail out.

Well, I'm not any of those things, other than perhaps proud, not a Bush supporter and I'm probably better-traveled than most on PPOT. Still, if most Europeans disagree with my political beliefs, it just convinces me more that I'm right.

If this is the typical housewife in the US we're all in trouble!!!
So after I nailed her I dumped her off in her driveway after two cocktails and an apetizer...
