500-600 g silakkafileitä
mausteliemi:
4 dl vettä
1 tl suolaa
3 rkl väkiviinaetikkaa
kastike:
1 dl majoneesia tai kermaviiliä
1-3 murskattua valkosipulinkynttä
1 tl suolaa
hivenen sokeria
1 maustemitta pippuria
1 tl rakuunaa
3 rkl tilli- tai persiljasilppua

Liota silakkafileitä noin 6 tuntia etikkavedessä. Valuta fileet. Jos haluat, voit poistaa fileistä nahan.
Sekoita kastikkeen aineet keskenään ja pane fileet siihen maustumaan. Anna fileiden maustua kylmässä noin vuorokausi.

Years ago I had a girlfriend who was a "semi-vegetarian". And we were discussing this and I asked her why she was a veg. If she had said that it was for health reasons or some such, I would have shrugged as I shagged her.

But, she said "Animals are my friends, and I don't eat my friends." Oh well, for me I thought...

"Yeah, but you eat fish."

"Well, Fish are STUPID animals!"

Caught this baby Jew in the gulf 6 miles North of Marathon Key 2 weeks ago. My first Jew. Live shrimp on a jig head in about 8 feet of water. The next fish caught was his brother, but about 10 lbs heavier.

The Jews are making a big comeback in FL. It would have been nice to eat them...
