I have to agree. It looks like you had a great family vacation. You will not regret the time spent with your family.

I don't think it'll be bad. I slapped a band Aid on it and went rollerblading. I've been on my feet for a few hours now, just took my sock and Band Aid off and virtually no blood. I think I just jabbed it, not much of a cut.

On a related note... Thought I was thinking about this a few days ago. I think my tetanus shot is well out of date. It's probably been at least 10 years now. Alarick, you have the shot and can ya give it to me?

Noah930 08-21-2012 09:18 PM

Crap, it's one that we don't stock in our office. (We usually get these emergency wounds via other doctors' clinics, so the shot is often administered there, first.) But if you don't die of lockjaw first, I'll see about borrowing one from one of the other clinics I go to on Thursday or Friday.

Recognize the logo on the red t-shirt on Noah?

It was Richards foot that started it. :D Got me thinking on if I am out of date and I have been around metal things lately that are good candidates for inflicting the infection.

Looks like you all had a nice time on the Cape. :)

G,

Friday Sept 14. is the 'Ring. That night we stay in Bonn. The 15th we go visit Stijn for two days, leave Monday morning to head towards Bremen.

They told me 5 years on the tetanus shot

pete3799 08-22-2012 02:25 AM

In keeping with the Stijn alumni i made a trip to the ER yesterday.
Was welding up an exhaust pipe on the Highlander and couldn't get to some of it with the welding helmet on. Resulting welding flash is not fun. They numbed my eyes and gave me some Oxycod/Apap (not sure what the Apap is) feeling much better now....... Next?

Rick V 08-22-2012 03:42 AM

Morning Y'all.
I had flash burns from a welder before, never again. It is amazing how bad your eyes can hurt. I would rather set myself on fire again with my welder

again?

Hey all you cripples, hippsters, and xacto warriors, take it easy on yourselves. This thread is an epic and we don't want to lose the cast of characters. :p

Noah (or is it Alarick?) , great looking family and nice vacation! Are you a sailor (as opposed to a boater)?

Where's our ol' bluesman, Doc Fluffer? And Stijn?

GH85Carrera 08-22-2012 03:57 AM

Good morning folks. I am hoping I get out of here today. And I REALLY hope I get to stay out of here for a long time!

Rick V 08-22-2012 04:01 AM

Glen lets hope they tell you to get out and stay out!!!

Jim, yes again, you have to remember I used to drink a lot.

Jim Richards 08-22-2012 04:03 AM

Good reason to punt alcohol. I killed too may brain cells when I was single :D, so I steer clear of the stuff myself.

Jim Richards 08-22-2012 04:04 AM

Go home, Glen! :)

Rick V 08-22-2012 04:14 AM

Okay Jim, here is how my alcohol induced self inflicted Rick tar-tar event went down. I had an old Nissan D21 pick up that my son broke the frame on so I decided it would be cheaper for me to simply replate the frame than replace the truck. I was finishing up some welds on the inside of the frame above the rear axle and had to jam myself under the axle to get the wand to reach it's target. (remember I was drunk) and I stitched the seam together and flipped my visor up to wait for the smoke to clear so I could inspect the weld. as I lay there watching the smoke increase I realized the flannel shirt I was wearing was the source of the smoke I was seeing. I was stuck and only had the use of one arm since I had wedged myself under the axle. I put myself out with a fresh beer I had just opened before the fiasco. I didn't need to go to the horse-pistol, only had some blistering but I learned a few lessons. Flannel is not fire retardant, always leave yourself a way out, don't let my son play with a 4X4

GH85Carrera 08-22-2012 04:15 AM

One of the things that will get me outta here is a PICC.

I get one today. It looks expensive.

Glen, my grandson has one of those although they call it a broviac. Be very very very careful about infections. Sepsis is nothing to play with and one of those lines is a no toll required downhill interstate for it

pete3799 08-22-2012 04:21 AM

And i thought i was the only one that sets himself on fire.
They should put warning labels on flannel shirts.

and a beer can be an effective fire extinguisher. Just keep a can of the cheap stuff handy. :)

Nope, and as you can see dumb-ass seems to gather in the same place:D
