My house has plaster walls, like there is chicken wire in all the walls, and man that kills the router in a big way.
I am on dsl and only have a ten meg service but I hear through the grape vine that I can get 25 meg now and it costs less, I just never remember to call them during normal working hours |
i dropped a couple of clients, back in the day, that got DSL against my professional advice. after the umpteenth time on the phone with them, i asked them if they remembered what i recommended for internet service. they did. i asked them why they went with DSL. price. i bid them adieu and good luck. from that point on, if one of my clients got DSL, that was the end of our relationship.
then, i finally got tired of the whole thing and quietly let it all go. |
Well DSL is the only game in town here unless I want to go cellular and that ain't gonna happen

It looks like I may be taking the beater Jetta out West in late Feb. Flying solo on the road trip, as Lu, her Mom, and our attack schnauzer will fly to SoCal. Of course our plans are carved in Jello. ;)

Just talked to a wireless guru friend of mine that set up wireless in hotels and stuff like that. Going to get me some powered antennas and blast the freakin neighborhood!!! When I'm done Glen might be able to get on my wireless network 1/2 mile away...ha ha ha haaaa.
Hooked up one company executive that lived out in the sticks with a wireless internet provider. We were able to get 2 gigabit with it. At the time cable internet was only 5 gigabit. Now slow cable is 50 gigabit and you can pay more and get up to 150 gigabit. |
Point an antenna my way, Richard. :D

i have the slowest internet that comcast offers, here. every time they call and want me to upgrade, i tell them that my internet speed is just fine, thank you. i get 6 MB/second downloads, depending on the speed at the other end. |
Woo hooo!!! Didn't have to do the antenna thing to get mo bandwidth.
Setup my old router as a wireless bridge to extend the network and put it on the desk where my laptop usually sits. Now getting full bandwidth to my laptop everywhere in the house and most importantly at my desk. |
I can surf redheads just fine so I'm good for now

lol
Evening ladies and gents |
Out with the spring compressors today. I don't like the heavy duty springs I put on the front of the Tojo, too harsh. Maybe if I had a steel bull bar and winch it may have been different. I found when we drove over to Perth a couple of months a go, with a decent weight in the rear the front sat high and light. Going back to the std springs. Pain in the arse job playing with MacPherson struts, the bigger landcruisers are much easier to do this with independent springs/shocks.

well, we have a major aphid infestation. 1500 ladybugs are on their way.
|
Well the car show was normal. The picnic was a success. 25 cars and lots of new members. The weather was San Diego perfect. 72 degrees and almost no breeze.
|
Brother is happy now. Put his old router in service as a bridge and his AppleTV is getting full wireless bandwidth. Had to hunt around a bit to find a location that worked though, especially since his wife did not want it out in view anywhere.

5hitty suspension job done. Now a shower and a test drive.

But you were supposed to add Brush guard, skid plate, and winch with a few lights thrown in for bling.
Saw and interesting lift kit on one of those truck shows. The 2 inch lift was done with an air spring that replaced the top spring mounts. Besides the initial 2 inch lift it wasn't deigned to adjust ride height, rather it came with a compressor and controller and was designed to load level for payload and or a trailer. |
We had load leveling bags on our 97 Chevy half ton. Back then it wasn't fancy enough to have a built in compressor but based on the weight of the trailer you could add or remove air from them to adjust the ride.
|
Brush guard and skid plate were std fit. I have added polyair bags on the rear end though. No fancy automated stuff (optional extra), that 5hit just gets damaged by stones anyway.

Morning Y'all,
I had a set of air helpers on the rear of Peggy, and not the fancy self contained kind, ya had to add air through a valve and such, Yeah I took them off, threw them down through the woods as far as I could, went picked them up and threw them further still. I replaced them with a set of Helwig 2,500 lb overload springs, much nicer and always ready for use, no air required. I have been known a time or two to exceed the GVWR on her. |
Mornin Rico
I don't know how you do it, I'm rooted after fighting with them spring compressors for a few hours. Bloody good workout though :D |
