New Crackberry is pretty is pretty interesting. Gonna take a while to get used to all of the features. The physical keyboard is pretty crazy because it's also touch sensitive, so you can use it for scrolling and stuff

It would be fun to be able to justfy spending $170K for toys. The most I could give for it is $8000.

Mrs Carrera called me at work and reminded me that I had a date with a shovel. I was allowed to dig 8 holes in the garden for her to plant some more plants. She failed to mention that she also wanted the bushes trimmed. That was way more work than digging holes.

Did you tell her she had all day at home and knew where the shovel is?

Not married and smart enough to know that response could have all kinds of negative outcome.

Unless you are like the old couple my parent knew. They were always making wise cracks to and about each other. They liked it.

One time I was in the back isle of a gas station convenience store getting soda pop when they came in to pay for their gas. They came in with their usual banter, calling each other names, etc., paid for their gas and left. The other's in the store just stood there with their mouths agape watching them get in their car and drive off. All the time continuing their banter. The only other person that wasn't effected was the store owner/clerk. Seeing how shocked his customers were he made the comment that they are always like that.

I would have said hi to them but it would have broken their cadence. When talking with other people they are as nice as can be.

My parents told me they were divorced and remarried several times, but never actually apart more than a week.

Neither one worked and they collected antiques. Almost like hoarders but things were kept nice and were actually valuable. Instead of stacking things they bought up houses that were close by and filled them. There were always paths to get to everything. After he died she started collecting dust collector stuff. Then all the storage places started filling up like on those hoarder shows, but no trash. All filled with boxes and boxes of nice unbroken items. dolls, clocks, curios, pottery, etc. She commented one time that she put her money in this stuff instead of the bank because the increased value was better than interest. Looked a couple of things she had on the internet and they were fairy valuable.

She was complaining about getting her car fixed once. I offered to take it and get it fixed for her and she point blank told me she thought I would try to rip her off. When she was talking about trying sell some of her stuff so she could buy some property out of town to have some horses, etc. I offered to help her put them on ebay. Again she accused me of trying to rip her off. She told my Mom that when I was around it reminded her that kids were all "explitives" because none of them helped take care of her like I did Mom.

For thanksgiving and Christmas we always got a turkey and a ham from where I work. I cooked up Big Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with all the fixins. It was WAY more than Mom and I could eat so made several single servings that would be easy to heat and we took them to her.

I don't know what happened to all her stuff. One of her daughters got legal custody of her, moved her to California, and didn't let her call and talk to Mom. She had 5 houses that I know of.

What sort of boat are you looking at, and where would you run it ?

Good Hump day morning folks.

Digging the 8 holes was pretty easy stuff since it was all in the garden and it is mostly good soil we have brought in to replace the clay. I knew the bushes were in need of trimming and it was a matter of time before that came up to the top of the list.

Mrs Carrera and I banter a lot and it is all 100% harmless. Her mother has heard it more than once and often thinks we are really arguing or are serious. I told he mother once I was pretty sure Mrs Carrera had no idea where the lawn equipment was kept even though it was right next to her potting soil and gardening equipment in the storage building. She had not touched a lawn mower or weed eater since we got married.

She came up with a "rule" that whoever opens the dishwasher the first time after the dishes are washed must put the dishes away. It can be tricky to go a week without touching the dishwasher to put away a fork or a plate.

My wife and I banter like that.

It's when couples DON'T talk or joke around it's a problem.

We have some inside jokes that no one around us would understand.

One of the standard stereotypes for women is they talk non stop. I for sure know some women that can't STAND to hear silence and will talk about anything even if they have no clue about a subject.

My wife is just NOT like that. When we ride in the car we sometime go an hour or more in silence and then it is a simple question like are you needed a pee break or OK to the next one.

I still tease my wife about a trip we made to a restaurant in Enid, OK before we were married. Her dad was still alive and well. Her parents walked in first and we were right behind. We were seated and all handed menus. I was the new guy and did not want to seem pushy. I was waiting to talk to be polite. The waitress walked over and asked if we were just having a really bad day or if we were mad about something. I broke out laughing. I told the waitress "no they just don't talk unless necessary, were rode all the way to the restaurant and not one word was spoken in the car." It sure beats a the heck out of a gab fest.

morning all. Well its not looking good for the mother-in-law to get moved. She is so overwhelmed with packing that she is not getting any done. If the wife and I have to go there and pack her stuff its going to be brutal.

David-we went through this with my Mom in Feb.

Someone has to take the lead on getting it done. My sisters live near and they would spend a few hours a day packing.

The wife's sister lives there but she works during the day. They were supposed to be driving a moving van up here this weekend. Not looking good. The house she is in is sold so rent will start soon.

Used 27'-31' sailboat to day sail and for short range cruising along the SoCal coast. Maybe run over to Catalina Island, too.
