Yea, I suspect we will be taking the El Camino when the weather is bad. If the snow is deep enough that the Elky can't get through we will likely stay home. It will be the apocalypse before we take the Macan in bad weather. Just my guess.

Didn't notice when you brought that bad boy by...does it have the air suspension?

Noticed your floor mats were black. Recommend some CocoMats...cocomats.com
Found them when got the Boxster. Liked em so well also got the for the BMW 3 Series and X3, and Range Rover. Plan to get a set for the Cayenne Turbo when I decide on the color.

And no the cocomat weaves do not leave threads everywhere like the old sisal mats used to.

They got all kinds of colors and styles. This checker pattern is new. I liked mine because they didn't show dirt or dog hairs very well. When they got dirty, just shook em out and went on. With the rubber backing and sealed edges they contained spills and snowy shoe melt too.

The set I had in the Boxster sun faded from me running around with the top down. Contacted them to see what kind of dye would bring some color back and they sent me another set of mats for free!

For carrying messy stuff I had some kind of plastic vinyl mat/cover thing for the back of the rover. It was like a tub that snapped to the sides and not only covered the floor, but went up to the luggage cover level around the sides and across the back of the rear seats. And a big flap that covered the tailgate that folded down with the tailgate (not that the Macan has a tailgate). Didn't use it but once when I brought some bags of grass seed and fertilizer home in it, so don't have any pictures. Had the rear cocomat for the X3 and don't recommend it for the back. Stuff slides around on the cocomats to easily.

When I turned the X3 back in from the lease I kept the cocomats. At about the same time my dentist got an X3. Told her about the mats and she took them in trade for a bridge!

They will send you samples of the colors. I use my samples as coasters for my desk.

Stijn!!

My nephew arrived tonight. He remembered my El Camino and 911 from when he was a little kid. He said his dad, my brother, has had the same two cars all of his life and he is 28. My brother has had just those two cars for 35 years. He said his friends are amazed at that. They ask why his dad would drive a 62 year old car as a daily driver. Why not. It works just fine and can be fixed easily. Yea, we are weird.

When I got the 928 GTS it had a set of black floor mats. The rest of the interior is Classic Gray. So I ordered a set of classic gray from Porsche and got the last set for the 928 they had. Now I have both good and bad weather floor mats for the 928. Just didn't think the cocomats style fit the 928.

My wife was telling my nephew that if he got cold the blankets are stored on a shelf she pointed to. He did not need blankets, he had the ceiling fan on high to get cool.

I remember the days of loving lower temps.

Someone say lower temps?
https://www.mountwashington.org/experience-the-weather/current-summit-conditions.aspx

8* above here now. Don't know what the wind chill is but i'm guessing teens below zero.

Before my friend in Austin got married, had to sneak the thermostat down. He kept it at 85°F. A bit too warm for me to sleep. When it got down to 72° I would sneak it back up to 85°F. I could get to sleep before it started warming back up much. His only comment was that he sure enjoyed sleeping when it started getting cooler at night. Didn't tell him it was possible to make it cooler every night.

After he got married I had to use the covers provided. She cranked it down to 65°F sometimes lower at night.

It looks like fog might interfere with my sailing plans.

No sailing. . At the marina, there were some cars on display, including these that Brent might enjoy.

We had slight rain and drizzle all day. Enjoyed showing my nephew around brick town area. The thunder are playing downtown so it started getting getting crowded down there.

Kept Mrs. Carrera's Infinity in my drive so they would have room for their nephews car and trailer. I slept late. Looked out at noon the next day and it was gone.

Thank goodness they had sold it! Man that was fast.

Yep it is sold. The next door neighbor of one of Mrs Carrera's friends was interested. He is s 19 year old boy and his dad is paying for most of the cost. The kid figured it was a perfect car for him. The good news is it is sold and gone.

The nephew Clayton left dark and early this morning. His destination is Golden Colorado to a place he has a room rented. He has a job lined up for tomorrow.

Good morning from sunny Southern California. Well, I assume it's sunny...who can tell with all this thick fog? Visibility is about 1/8 mile.

morning all. Hi Jeff.

The saga of the 72 continues, actually did some work on the rear end yesterday, new rear bearings, put the bits and pieces back together for the park brake, had a few questions about the butterfly expander(s) for the park brake, needed some new white plastic cable holder things, which took hours to find on Pelican, didn't know if the things were an open ended part that could slip the cable on or were originally a hole which would mean we needed to stop work. So we stopped, had a beer with firends, covered it up and I came home to check the parts catalogue. The park brake has two butterfly expanders, which are not shown on our 72 onwards workshop manual, more like 70-71 parts, and the plastic cable holder is open ended which means that I can finish putting the rest of the rear brakes together and calipers on and await the never ending parcel with the bits in it.

Meanwhile awaiting yet another PP parcel with Marilyn's new clutch kit. My pockets are bleeding.

But its not about the cost, its about the fun!!
