Whatever beer that young lady is serving!!
Or, if she's not around, Guinness Extra Stout or Young's Double Chocolate Stout.

Tis the same as Vinny. Sadly the closest it is sold to Texas is Birmingham Alabama. A little far for a road trip...

Agreed - Sam Adams is probably the best domestic "available anywhere" beer.
All-time favorite? Wow - tough question. I recently discovered an OUTSTANDING local brew (Drayman's Porter by Berkshire Brewing Company) which is right up there. Also a few homemade batches I've done were right up there. Chimay is great too. I'm also fond of Sierra Nevada, Gordon Birsch's Heffeweisen and a fabulous Russian Imperial Stout made by Goose Island Brewery in Chicago. I always liked the Cyclone Light Lager from Rock Bottom in Long Beach too. Light but damn refreshing. Their Long Board Brown is good too if you're in the mood for something darker. "Favorite beer" is probably an impossible question to answer - it depends on the style you're asking about and probably what kind of mood I'm in. There are (thankfully) many good ones out there to offset the many crappy mass-produced ones out there. It's probably as unanswerable a question as "what's the best motor oil?" Life is too short to drink cheap beer.

My local beer store sells "make your own 6 pack". Huge assortment of beer and always seems to have something new. Usually get 2 of each and then the ones I like I come back and get a whole 6 pack of it.
To pick just one would be so limiting. |

Sam Adams Black Lager is another good one that you can find at any better liquor store too. Different. Yummy. And I'm not normally a lager guy. Very well-done.
Used to like Guiness a lot - still good occasionally but not a "top 10" or anything. I can only do so much of drinking beers you should eat with a fork.

I have recently rediscovered Tetley Bitter... tasty stuff in the warm weather.
In the colder months, Left Hand Milk Stout.

I love Sam Adams, but Anchor Steam on tap is as fine a beer as you can get.
