Came out of the hardware store yesterday and noticed I was parked about like the silver car. I immediately thought of this thread and looked around for your cameras. :)

Pretty timely that this re-surfaces.. Last night only one spot even close to the restaurant and some douche back is over the line.. Since I"m on a cane I get out and have my friend back into the spot so it's passenger side to passenger side.
So she parks and the douchbag is in the car! unbelievable

Joe Bob 07-04-2012 11:02 AM

And you didn't say anything?

I am beaming with pride over this thread.

I'm not really sure I care so much about trivia. With the world's problems at hand, much less those right here in Long Beach, it's just not a big issue.

I walked by a Rolls Royce parked on the sidewalk outside the performing arts center and gave it about 3 seconds thought.

I wouldn't give it any thought either, since it wouldn't have been taking up a parking space I could have used and would probably get a fat ticket if a cop saw it. The d'bags that take up two spaces in a crowded lot are a totally different issue that affects others.

I parked in 2 spaces the other day, at the back of a very uncrowded parking lot....
some fudge-packing douche walked by and said, roughly, 'i should key that pos fir parking like that'

I.....ummmm, extended an open invitation to find out how I would react.

If you came upon a Roller parked slap in the middle of a sidewalk you'd have gone flippin' berserk. Everything is in order in your world.

I too have a cane, don't need it all the time, but there are times, but mine has a sword in it, so I can easily adjust tire inflation;)

Because the Hun is either at your feet or at your throat.

Two spaces? You amateurs.

I should have taken a pix of a pickup with a boat/trailer taking up two spots. 2nd shift parking spots are hard to come by and he was there all day. Grrrr...

Mostly in his space, but I swear , there were only 4 cars in the entire Lowe's parking lot, and he parks right up on the backside of my truck. I had to load an air conditioner, and 4 bags of sakrete just a few inches from the front of his car. He busted me taking the pic as well. Notice it is a black Audi.

Had he parked further back you would have still snapped a picture of the ******* that left his car hanging out into the street. I see nothing wrong with that, he took the end spot and cheated to the far side to avoid dings. I do the exact same thing.

You do know that in less time than it took you to snap a picture and ***** that you could have just pulled your truck forward 12"? There's no unwritten rule that all pickups require a tailgate loading buffer zone.

fastfredracing 07-07-2012 08:22 PM

More or less took the shot because it was a black Audi, but I would never park my nice car right up behind a pickup at a Lowe's or Home depot, if the lot was near empty I was not there to buy socks and underwear. And I am not a dick, if I though I was in any danger of dropping something on his car, I would have moved. That air conditioner would have left one hell of a ding in his hood. I complimented his car anyhow, this guy, not necessarily a db.

Gogar 07-07-2012 08:23 PM

You parked improperly, Fred. Not him.

fastfredracing 07-07-2012 08:23 PM

You are probably right

fastfredracing 07-07-2012 08:24 PM

So tonight, am I the db?

Youngish guy at the wheel, no placard, and parked like a DB, He deserved some sorta prize...

slodave 07-07-2012 08:56 PM

I guess that makes me one too. While I don't go parking in handicapped spots, I will park on similar lines in the 911, to give a lot of space between the car next to me.

I don't see a problem with the above, short of maybe not having a placard. It's not like he's taking up multiple spaces and those lines look like they are there to give space for handicapped people to get in or out.

Noah930 07-07-2012 08:59 PM

Understood, Dave. But seeing as how that Pepper wagon is in a handicap spot, it's not like he's going to have any neighbors to give him door dings, anyway.

slodave 07-07-2012 09:00 PM

That's true. Other the not so great parking job, not sure how he is DB if he was legally allowed to park there.

Noah930 07-07-2012 09:05 PM

OK, maybe not a DB, as he wasn't selfishly inconveniencing anyone else. But certainly qualifies for a crappy-a$$ driver/parker award.

porsche4life 07-07-2012 09:13 PM

Like I said.... No placard, guy that looked around my age driving....

slodave 07-07-2012 09:21 PM

Do you know 100% that he was not supposed to park there? Looks like temp tags. Here and other states (maybe all), have permanent handicap plates. Maybe the temp registration indicates handicapped. And so what if he's young.

I had knee surgery at my senior year in HS. Private school at the top of a hill. Student parking was at the bottom. It was a pain to try and get up the hill on crutches, leg mobilized, wearing a backpack full of books. I was entitled to a temp handicap placard, but turned it down. On flat parking lots I felt I was young enough to get across the lots. My school gave me permission to park in the handicap spot at the top of the hill. I don't remember if they actually gave me something to stick on my dash, but one day there's a "karma police" ticket on my window. Some thought I was a DB for parking there illegally, but I was allowed.

If he was illegally parked, then yes a DB. If he was allowed to be there, then he just sucks at parking.

IMO. He's a DB either way for driving a POS SUV + not being able to park it. SmileWavy

slodave 07-07-2012 09:29 PM

So we're back to where I started. I'm a DB for parking my 911 over lines in corner spots in garages, to prevent door dings. Gotcha. The lines are there to try and prevent people from squeezing in, since a full spot was not possible.

fred,
when I'm making a run to pick-up a load of stuff i always"pull" in bed out..easy access to truck bed etc. then the only worry i have is not getting hit by some DB trying to find 2 spaces to park in! nice pic though (LOL)

Noah930 07-07-2012 09:45 PM

I thought of this thread the other day but didn't have my camera on me. I was sitting in my car in a parking lot of a local garden/nursery store. I was waiting in the car, as one of my kids was asleep and the wife ran into the store to do some shopping. A woman in a ML 350 pulled into the parking lot. The first "spot" was one of those 1 & 1/2 spots. But the full parking spot was blocked off by a large traffic cone. So the woman took a quick look at the lot, which was admittedly pretty full but you still can't see every spot from the driveway, particularly when you only expend 0.3 seconds to take a glance, and proceeded to slip next to the traffic cone, utilizing that 1/2 spot next to the curb to allow her in.

Now, usually a traffic cone in the middle of a parking stall in a retail store parking lot is left there by someone who works in said establishment, rather than a random patron trying to save a space, right? And usually people put traffic cones in places for reasons, right? But somehow this woman ignored this piece of (what I thought to be) common sense, took the path of least resistance and parked the first place she could. Or heck, maybe she's the one who left the traffic cone there from the last time she was at that store.
