My newest pet peeve is all the special classes of reserved parking spots. At my gym we have "15 min. customer parking only." Since I'm a customer and am always there for about an hour, I figure I make the 15 min cutoff. Now they have a few marked for veterans only. Sorry, I park there too. Unless it's a handicapped spot, I will park there.

Now at my office we have spaces reserved for:

1) expecting mothers
2) carpools
3) handicapped (mostly people too fat to walk and who can't carry their 128oz breakfast soda too far)
4) recognition parking
5) security parking

And then we have parking for the unprotected class of normal people who can walk an extra 50'. I hate everyone.

Yep, at our office we have expecting mothers, carpool, vanpool, company cars, "Raffle Winner" (no kidding, 1 month only though), handicapped, emergency only. Its a damn joke.

One of the restaurants I go to is in a strip mall that has 2 spots that say "Short Term". I always park there since there is no definition of "short term" nor is there any atm or other necessity for short term

careless door ding = accidental.
keyed is a conscious action by a low-witted person, usually to make some sort of statement.

My neighbors daughter was home from school on the weekend. I kind of chuckled as I walked by the car as someone carved "Learn to park!" on her passenger door. I wonder how she parked to deserve that?

This stuff really pisses me off. Might as well say minority parking in the back.

What about the contractor parking at Home Depot? The amount I spend there I am a contractor!

One of these days we'll need a lawyer to get us a parking space. It's getting ridiculous.
I know from experience with my employees that parking space privilege, petty as it seems, is a big deal to some of them. We had two women who would get in a snit over who got the space nearest the door. I park in the farthest space from the door and own the building AND the parking lot.
I hate everyone too.

I'm pushing for a parking space for those with CCP! (concealed carry permit).

I think it would improve attitude 110%, especially at government buildings.

'Reserved for Parents with Young Kids'.

I use that spot, I have kids. And they are younger than me.

The sign does not say they have to be with you.

Lol!

The ones that irritate me most of all are "pre-order pickup parking". I always park in those. As far as I'm concerned I "pre-ordered" by knowing what the hell I was going to the store to get. A few times I pre-ordered only to get down there and be told "oh the computer must be wrong, we don't have any of those in stock". It's idiocy. I see incentivizing those spots in the same way as "self checkouts" - the companies don't want to employ anyone and are discouraging customer behavior that requires a human being. If I wanted automated, I'd have bought on Amazon. I never use self checkouts and will absolutely park in a "pre-order parking" spot with no guilt whatsoever.

LEED now is starting to require preferred parking for electric / alternative fuel vehicles. Not a fan of that at all.

You can PDR a ding. A keymark has to be reshot, which means it totally screws up the color match in a few years.

Park it against a curb or end spot, biased away from the other spot- or simply don't park- take a different car.

I would NEVER take a Ferrari to a store or anywhere during peak hours. Ain't worth it.

None of my cars have dings, never.

With my job I find myself at a lot of hospitals (and hospital parking lots), usually with plenty of handicapped parking. It amazes me how many 4x4s or lifted trucks with handicapped stickers park in those spots.

I agree with you completely Randy.
I park in the end spot, even when I drive the pickup and will park far from the entrance (I don't mine walking a little it's good for you) to avoid the careless and the in considerate. I also never take the 911 to a store or anywhere during peak hours. As for the curb I worry about someone backing into the front.

I should have rephrased my original post to reference the inconsiderate people who bounce their door off your car and park crookedly even when the parking stalls are extra wide.

I think many would disagree- you be a pompous ass with your car, all bets are off. I would never give anyone a reason to do anything. Ain't worth the style points.

don't park like a jackoff.

I'll ask myself "can their door hit my car?" If yes, move. I won't leave my stuff anywhere it can be abused. I work too hard to keep 'em nice.
