They never did so I left a note with my phone number and told them to call me and I take care of it. The guy calls and is super nice. I explain what happened said I was sorry about million times. He told me not to worry about its just one of a bunch of dings the car will get over the years and probably the only note he'll get for them.
Had something similar happen at Home Disappointment when my cart rolled away and dinged the aluminum wheel well trim on a 4-5 year old Chrysler sedan. Waited for the owner, and a man and woman showed up. I explained, apologized; offered to make it right. She was livid, he was mellow. She wanted to take it to the body shop and send me a bill. I said I'd fix it... left my business card and never heard from them.

Some people truly are unaware and/or so self-absorbed they have no empathy for their rudeness.

On the road, all that is left to us is to use the horn (or Road Warrior front bumper) to alert someone of their hazardous or bonehead move. Stationary, as in a public lot, unless they're aware of their boorishness, some might only be aware by 1) leaving a note and/or 2) leaving evidence of someone's anger. Fake fecal matter on the windshield might be over the top, but a well-place 16p nail is pretty effective if not subversive.

I understand how some might want to vent their anger on the perp's vehicle, but a "Dear A** H***" note (downloadable from page X in this thread) might provide some temporary relief, and is suggested if only for one's karma.

Bill's face-to-face scenario is noteworthy if true . It can make people more aware and even mimic responsibility (nice concept). At worse, the interaction can also remind us there's a small minority of unrepentent zombies in our communities.

parking like a douche is one thing-

Parking normally and being whacked for having a nice car is another.

Gloves come off for the latter....

LOL, I thought the exact same thing. Any time I see someone with their car decorated with every piece of self-adhesive chrome trim that Pep Boys sells, I give them a wide berth. There are some outward signs of stupidity.....

We used to joke that "it looked like JC Whitney threw up on it" when we saw a vehicle with all the trimmings.

To each their own, I suppose. I don't want to MORE stuff to have to keep clean.

I know it's only a little bit over the line, but it's enough that I saw half-dozen people pass up the spot. They are probably afraid he cannot back out of the spot any better than he pulled into it.

I would park in the spot on the left in the picture and not pull in all the way.

always good to have a big piece of large caliber bubble wrap on hand...... roll up and place behind a wheel so when they (the malefactor) back up, the resulting sound will make them poop their pants.

That's too much on the side of a prank and probably a disconnect from their unconscious parking strategy. People who habitually take advantage of others might deserve a stronger, more direct message.
