In the early 1990's I spent a couple of weeks in Tenerife. Surfing and soaking up the sun and nightlife. We rented a little shack for peanuts but we splurged on a 4wd vehicle which was sort a knock off jeep CJ. We spent a number of days driving the coastlines just to search out other spots. One day we came across this one wave which was a lot like the Wedge.... big shore break that was quickly hollow at different times and then closed out quickly. Basically a big nasty drop and then fend for your life. Of course the only house for miles was right on the bluff by this beach. We didn't care and paddled out, we were soon joined by the guy who lived in the house who gave us fair warning and had the place wired. The break had a name but I can't remember it, my old age is kicking in.... Surfed some really fun uncrowded spots on that trip. After a few days of solid, clean chest to head high stuff we woke up one morning and it wasn't beautiful and sunny like it had been.... a quick trip to the beach and we found what we had come for.

Phew, I found myself leaning hard into that wave Baz, just watching the video haha. There is a wave just like it in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, right at the concrete entrance to the harbor. Not as quite as mean as the wedge, but the same sort of wave.

Yep Bill that missing pic is a loss, but understandable on our forum here. This amazing slow motion video of the beauty that only surfers get to see , may make up for it. Beautiful water photography. https://vimeo.com/289001328?ref=fb-share&fbclid=IwAR081csoGuyoSYSEtxX4K3Araurv3icUmWCjvx0Hi VyfTkQ33cizenhIv-i0 Cheers Richard
