I noticed Racerbvd picked up a Hollingsworth. Another great shaper with a long history. I've owned a few of his old Nectar shapes over the years. Enjoy that board, it looks like a beauty.

Congrats to your son Geary, looks like he is following in your footsteps as an accomplished surfer. And in an era with lots of professional / commercial prospects and opportunities.

Give him an ATTA BOY! From the crew here my surfing thread.

Can't believe the crowds and shuffling in the lineup in Tahiti at Choupu (sp)
In that footage. Even the tow teams were snaking each other, wow.
Sure is a stellar wave tho.

Cheers Richard

Jason left me in the dust @ age 11 ..

Tahiti is absolute madness. To think that 20 years ago, they just watched this spot peel off. Unless you're plugged into the hierarchy (and a damned good surfer), you won't be riding Choops.

That may be $2K worth of board hanging there.

They've refused offers of 3K (although they offered to sell it back to me for that price) ..

Yes, I'm making certain to be on the short list, should my buddy ever wish to part with it.

The milled planks and stringers are lightly glued/pinned together, the rough shaping done, and then it's disassembled for channelling (lightening). After weight is reduced, the pieces are carefully resined together, and finish shaping is performed. Still not as light as a foam board, but lightness has proven to be overrated in big surf.

Some shots of my son and daughter catching a few of the smaller ones from this past south swell we saw here in Santa Barbara

We had 5 good days of south and this was the smallest so I stayed on shore to take pics of the group.

How we end our surf days in SB

Must've been a heck of a swell angle, not too many souths make it past the islands into SB. Looks like the kids are having fun, good on ya.

Be a nice change from the Stone Temple Pilot stickers I have been using.
