I bought some of my tools when I was in my teens, 45 years ago. I still have them and they still work. I have a Stanley plane and its original box that I've owned since I was a teenager. Haven't used it in years.

Wow, David (Groesbeck Hurricane), you're what, maybe 165-170 years old now?

I have an electric juicer from the mid-1970's and shortwave radio from the mid-1980's. I think that's it.

EP,

I have one of the same CoolPix cameras and like yours, it will not die!

Tools? An antique hand made brace and bit that my Great Grandfather made back in the 1800's.

Still have the Rolex GMT master that came from the PX in 1974, ticking away like new but has been gone through by the factory twice.

Cars, the Jag XJ below, 1969 model and has been in the family since new. I have driven it since 1975.

I have a hot glue gun. It was one of the first on the market. It was sold by a shoe company. It has been a few years since I used it last. I think it was sold by the Chicago Shoe Company. I got in in the early 60s. I even have the original instruction sheet.

Jim,

There are some days I feel older

I took it to mean as in held in the family. If personally then it is some original artwork from about 1967. I drew it .

A box full of Cox .049, .020, and .051 model airplane engines bought beginning in the mid '60's through the mid '70's.

I just sent about a dozen large boxes of model railroad equipment to my younger brother in Boston. All HO scale, mainly Athearn, Bachman, and Tyco, that the two of us started buying in the late '60's. We built a fairly nice layout in our parents' rec room that we enjoyed through the '70's. I resurrected it in my basement with my boys when they were young, and now it's his turn, with his kids. About two dozen transitional (steam to diesel) era locomotives, several hundred pieces of rolling stock, four or five MRC power pacs, about 60-70 switches and hundreds of feet of track, several dozen buildings, etc.

Owned from new? A couple of things:

Most important thing is my gorgeous little Martin 00-21 guitar, spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, bought new in June of '62.

Also I regularly use a General S-605 jeweler's screwdriver set my dad gave me when I was a high schooler to keep my specs tight.

I forgot about a fishing rod and reel I have that I got when I was maybe in the 6th grade. That's got to be the oldest that I've had since new.

Not much. The things I can think of that I have owned the longest is a bottle opener on my key ring, and a couple of screwdrivers that somehow were not in my toolboxes either of the times they were stolen. Both would be from about 1984.

I do have a couple of guns given to me by my grandfather, a Winchester 1887 made in 1908, and a Colt Police Positive made in 1915. I don't think those count though, he got them used.

My wife also has a shotgun that was her grandfather's, a Winchester 1911 (AKA Widowmaker) made in about 1914.

Dad bought me this for a birthday present in '65 or so.

Too bad he didn't get something a couple of years sooner, might have gotten a model 61 instead (of paying so much for one myself a few years ago).
