From what I recall at the last Mardi Gras I went to (admittedly, it's been a while), everyone was drinking while driving! I recall there were drive through bars.
Laws have changed a bit. Still drive thru bars (daquiri bars galore) but now they "seal" the cups with a piece of tape over the lid where the straw goes. You break the "seal" and its an open container violation now.

Being familiar with the Big Easy...you know how normally tolerant and unfazed LEO's are in NOLA, particularly in the Quarter. To a point. I'm about to push the envelope and discover the true meaning of Coonass POPO's.

Worse than that...but to their credit these LEO's were surprisingly courteous and professional.

So we've got driving drunk, (completely trash-bagged from the sound of it), with a loaded gun and an open container so far? In New Orleans? Sounds like an episode of COPS.

Go on...

The oil change is a red herring. I have a feeling this will end with "Who is liable for what, to whom?"

Yeah, I was in a forgiving mood until I read this. I mean, bad gun etiquette while DUI is one thing, but sloppy car maint. on a Porsche BBS is crossing the line.
