Found this at the curb today......needs a little attention but will make a nice little work table for my art studio.

Anyone know why the bottom of the top drawer is sloped?

Drawer looks like it can be set up for filing of some sort. Also, it's a desk for a left-handed user.

I have a rolltop desk that has the same type of drawer. Yours is missing the inserts that fit in the grooves that hold and separate paper, ie: pads or loose binder paper.

Is that a fortune cookie fortune at the end? If so, what’s it say?

I'll let you know. Didn't see it until I looked at the photos...

My wife and I went to a garage sale Friday and went back on Saturday . On Friday I got 95 plastic bins for 20.00 , the type of bins you put nuts/bolts in . Also got a Craftsman battery charger/maintainer in the box with instructions for 10.00 . It even has the cigarette lighter adapter which is perfect for the Boxster . Sledge hammer for 10.00 . On Sat. went back and picked up two Walmart thermal mugs ( Yetti style ) for 12.00 some metal shelf brackets and a Craftsman volt/amp meter for 3.00 .

On the way back home on Sat. from the garage sale my wife spotted an estate sale sign so we swung by . Bought some odds and ends but the big score was a 6 ' fiberglass step ladder for 5.00 !!! I love saving money

bought a bin of flooded rusty tools for 5 bucks because there was a 1/2" s-k ratchet on top. At the bottom there was a Norlund double bit axe that i just sold for 140$ Also found a pair of vintage reidell skates for 2$ that i sold for 65. Also picked up a 1956 1/2" snap-on ratchet for 5$, a box of snap-on ez-outs with reverse drill bits for 5$, and a like new fluke meter worth 400$ for 50$ but keeping those

Six yards of prime, year-old cow manure - FREE! All I had to do was haul it home ( I rented a 2 yard dump trailer for that). In a few months it will be terrific compost. Thinking of getting more.

I picked up a second garett ace 250 metal detector from a garage sale a few weeks ago for 50 bucks in mint condition. I debated selling it with the original box from my first one to make an easy 100. but decided to keep it so i can go out with my brother and friend. Glad i did because we went out and had a good time.

930dude, you're killing it with those nice scores. What's your strategy - go early, pick your spots based on newspaper ads or locations, try to hit as many as possible?

Not really I actually dont go to a whole lot of sales only if they are convenient usually dont even leave my town. I think its just nobody knows or cares what the stuff is worth. The past couple years Iv been watching alot of utube videos on reselling and learned alot about the values of all kinds of things. When you shop to resell rather than buy for yourself you come home with alot more stuff.

Picked up a couple antique pond yachts from an estate sale for $25 on Sunday for my son. Had the one with a broken spar fixed, lines untangled and sailing by early evening . He absolutely loved them!! Both boats ended up sailing far better than I would have ever imagined. We had a blast and will hit the pond again soon.

New hose reel. 10 bucks. It was a sloppy yellow. hit it with wire wheel, rattle can primer and gloss red and almost ready to hang.

Good haul of cameras last week. Certain 1980s auto-focus point-&-shoot 35mm film cameras are a hot commodity right now with the Olympus Stylus Epic being the pinnacle, usually selling around $250-300 The P&S's here were $1-$2 each, the SLRs and Rollei medium format were $3-$10 each.

Two CL purchases this morning........

1) Eight empty 35mm slide carousel's for $15. All Kodak and in perfect condition.

2) a used torsion axle for my boat trailer for $80.

I have all these 35 mm slides and was thinking about what kind of box to store them in and came to the conclusion that storing them in carousel's made the most sense! Thought this was a decent deal for them.
