Interesting score at an estate sale today. In with a box full of obsolete still & movie film for $1.50 was a 16mm B&W film reel of the 1958 Buick Open. Looks like it was taken by an amateur or local news photographer. Have so far only looked at a few feet of it with a loupe and found Sam Snead teeing off. Arnold Palmer finished third so I'm sure he's on it somewhere (he won the Masters that year). Billy Casper won. Maybe Ben Hogan, etc. I'm going to look at it on a projector this weekend.

Also found this early 60's AMF Wen-Mac gas-powered 57 Chevy Gasser for $10. It's about 12-inches long and looks like you thread a string thru fittings on the front and back and run it in a straight line down the street on a fixed string.

Seems like there is an estate sale every weekend around here. I went by Saturday and found things over priced. Sunday everything was 1/2 so I stopped by tto see what was left over. Found this 94 quart cooler with two trays. Foam walls, 2 latches, 3 hinges, screw-on drain cap. A SCORE for $12.00

No pictures anymore...

...but my wife found a few Estes Model rockets at a garage sale 2 years ago. About 5 of them. They were original kits, unopened, all balsa and rubber still intact. 0.25 each.

Her thought was it would be a good project for my son and I. When I said "Cool, these are vintage ones" she happened to go on ebay looking for them.

We sold 1 for about $300. THe others about $200 more total. That buys a lot of projects for the boy and I.

Iv had so many scores this winter I cant even remember them all. But this past week iv been sorting dumpster finds. I went to buy a $200. 1970s John deere 140 with hydro plow and came home with 3 truckloads of stuff. He was cleaning out the house I got a nice 8hp generator, an old people staircase lift chair, Tons of spray paint cans, but the best finds were the machinist tools and jewelry. A Gerstner tool box full of starett and brown & sharpe stuff. And there was 60 bucks cash in one of the purses. Probably an entire jewely collection with maybe 20 or 30 pieces of gold and silver. I havnt seperated it all yet. Thats not the only time Iv found gold in the trash either. Probably 5 or 6 times now. Also got a Vintage Sano Amplifier. And a ton of clothes and whatever else good stuff I picked out just to donate. A few weeks ago I found an Aerobird xtreme Rc plane in the trash with the box just needed a servo. Cant wait to fly that iv been wanting one. And found 3 pairs of AG Jeans at the good will a few weeks ago sold them for 60 bucks each. Back around christmas time I raided a dumpster full of toys and made about 500 off of those. Its been a great trash year sofar. Its paying my bills

This pic was from a recent estate sale - a bedroom full of cameras. Lots of Leitz/Leica. Mostly NOS stuff. Unfortunately, it was all priced at 'retail' and beyond But I did find a shoebox full of accessories that was not priced. All small Leitz/Leica bits & pieces. I don't think they wanted to spend the time looking it all up on ebay and I got the entire box for $15. About $400 worth the stuff in there.

Picking up a couple yards of mulch this afternoon and as I rounded to corner coming back saw a pile of stuff by the road. Nice older gentleman cleaning out a garage and said take whatever you want...I'm clearing this place out. After a quick peek inside his garage (to make sure there were no Norton's or Speedsters in there) I loaded up just these few items...tool box with saws and stuff...shop vac...old circular saw....air hose...not a huge value but I really like the long tool box....

Two weeks ago a Ammco brand 7000 lb. two post lift for $1,000.00 . Got there and it was still setup so I could see it operate . Seller told me the motor/pump were replaced two years ago and by looking at it I tend to agree . Broke it down , loaded it on my car trailer and I'm waiting to set it up in the new man cave under construction .

A painting walked into Good Will. GW put it up for auction on their Website, where it sold for $80,001.00. It was nothing special to look at just some rolling hills, trees with a path of a NM canyon.

Vintage Sunn Concert Bass head and matching 2 15 cabinet for $100.

My 15 year old son went completely bonkers with joy. That is his dream amp for some odd reason.

Baz,

By any chance do you still have the leather hatchet cover? I would be interested in buying it if you still do. Looks like an excellent replacement for the one that came with my Eastwing model. Just let me know. Thanks.

The local dealership is packing it in. I grabbed the oval one for $50. It's as big as a garage door. Not really sure what I'm going to do with it.
