Before that, also on TCM.....1978's "Corvette Summer". I was out so didn't watch but have seen it multiple times. A cult classic!

I watched this last night - damn, a difficult watch! Amazing what they were faced with (cannibalism and all that). Again, damn!

Move over Indiana Jones and Laura Croft for the IRL adventure.

A French archeologist journeys to be the next Howard Carter and 'discover' an ancient Peruvian Amazon center of civilization far greater than Machu Picchu, the lost city of Païtiti. Of course there is rumored to be a huge treasure of stolen Spanish gold as well. And several others in the past have already 're-discovered' it. There is competition and hostile natives and technical difficulties and above all the terrain itself.

Watch it 3 or 4 times and it gets funnier each time.

Tonight 10:15pm on TCM from 1969 and directed by John Frankenheimer...."The Gypsy Moths".

Fantastic cast! Lancaster, Kerr, Hackman, and Bonnie Bedelia in her first film role.

Christopher Guest has done a slew of similar films in the mockumentary format. He was in one of the best, This is Spinal Tap, and went on to direct/start in more. If you like Best in Show, check out Waiting for Guffman, which has many of the same stars:

Guest cracks me up, going back to the days when he was on SNL. He's married to Jamie Lee Curtis.

The Man From Nowhere. Netflix. It’s Korean, subtitled, but that doesn’t matter because it’s an action flick. Lots of martial arts. Very good and bloody.

On Netflix...The Wrong Missy
A shallow slightly raunchy romantic comedy with David Spade.
Worth watching...esp if a Spade fan.

I watched Dead Reckoning last night. Meh. More of the same MI stuff. For me it was rather tiresome and predictable. Of course YMMV

Great director— not sure it needed to be remade, but trailer looks really good
