My Blu-ray player crapped out last week. Bought a 4K replacement player for about a buck and a half. It lets me split the hdmi feed so picture goes to the tv and sound to the receiver - which saved me 2k on a receiver upgrade.

Dune in 4K is gorgeous. The second Dr Strange is a bizarre film - and kinda woke - but visually stunning too.

With Gal Gadot, it has to be good.

Heart of Stone just went on Netflix, starring Gal Gadot. Sort of like a cross between Atomic Blonde and Minority Report. Good action, entertaining, but not awesome. I'm up for watching anything Gal does, personally. She's over-the-top capable in too many ways here.

Some good ones tonight:

9:03pm on SYFY.....1985's "Commando"!

And at 10pm on TCM......1957's "The Enemy Below"!

This trailer may have all the high points but I thought it was fun, I laughed a lot, and thought Jennifer Lawrence went all in on this movie especially the naked beach fight scene. It was free on one of streaming services I pay for. Watch at your own risk.

I was pleasantly surprised by No Hard Feelings. Jennifer Lawrence was great - takes a lot of guts to do a fight scene completely nude for a film that is not what her fans might expect. Also a nice scene with Lawrence and Andrew Barth Feldman playing the piano in the restaurant.

I saw it a few weeks back. I liked it.
I like how JL comes across as a normal young gal....she's funny.

Joe Kidd, a bad Clint Eastwood movie. I did not think that was possible.

It's possible but not with "Joe Kidd". Maybe an acquired taste. I had to watch it several times before I could fully appreciate it for what it is.

One of my fav. soundtracks too......Lalo Schifrin, of course.......

From 1962 and directed by David Lean....."Lawrence of Arabia" on TCM right now. As far as I'm concerned.......the greatest movie ever made.

Many outstanding performances, including Anthony Quinn as the Desert Falcon, Auda Abu Tayi......

As always.......commercial free!

When I saw this the first time, I wasn't paying attention. This is an excellent movie in terms of cast, director, director of photography, writer, and music. It's always been highly regarded- I just figured out why.

100%! Great cast and acting. The actor who played Homer, Harold Russell, was an actual Army vet who lost his hands while serving. You wouldn't know he wasn't an "actor" by his performance, which was fantastic.

Dana Andrews was great as well......

A movie/TV goof that drives me nuts. The car is 'moving' in this scene, but clearly, the shift lever is in PARK.

They spend so much money on a rig like this to better replicate a moving vehicle, and kinda blow it by ignoring the details...

Here's the hero chasing a motorcycle...right.
