Midway was alright, especially compared to Pearl Harbor. Low bar, I know... But I went in expecting awful and it was not so bad... I'd watch it on TV, might not pay in a movie theater given a choice...

Knives out was pretty good recently... Also uncut diamonds..

sc_rufctr 01-31-2020 08:48 AM

It's not overly gory but I wouldn't recommended it for a ten year old.

Thanks. PG and R ratings are easy to figure out, but PG-13 is a huge grey area.

Great but were's part 2? :(

Couldn't find it, but here's more good info. Might be worth watching to see if the movie is historically accurate.

There are a lot of zombie movies, and I'm generally not a fan.

But the Korean film Train to Busan transcends the genre.

It's being remade as an American movie -- which will likely be terrible like most studio remakes are.

Thanks for that recommendation... Just watched that subtitled (as my Korean is non existent), it's very clever all they could do with that simple concept... Visually too...
Very good if you like decent Zombie movies... It's got some extra "juice" during a coronavirus epidemic too...

Minimal CGI and beautifully shot.
The stamina of these dogs is amazing. They just love to run!

Oblivion. 2004 scifi movie with Tom Cruise. Story of a space man on a devastated earth. way too complicated plot line but I liked it anyway.

Steve Carlton 02-29-2020 07:24 PM

I liked Oblivion a lot. Decent sci-fi, good effects that weren't over the top. Much more recent than 2004, though.

Just saw The Invisible Man. On the edge of my seat through most of the movie- pretty good.

1/2 way into the invisible man right now. I normally like suspense but this is really slow. Going to try to get to the end.

A modern classic. I'd like to see a follow on movie but it could all go "pear shaped" very easily.
