The Black Stallion is on TCM right now. Great movie! I remember Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert's review of it on At The Movies when it first came out.
As always on TCM....commercial free! |
Birds of prey, Harley Quinn. If you liked Suicide Squad you will probably like this continuation story of the Margot Robbie character.

The alien/species has an intimidating tally-wacker!

Go ahead and laugh, but SHO is currently running 'It's a Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood'
I watched it to see what all the hoopla was about at Oscar time regarding Hank's portrayal of Fred Rogers. Holy crap, he nailed it - channeled the sweaterman to a 'T'. I don't see how he lost the Oscar. Also, anything with Chris Cooper is a plus - ...one of my favorites.. and he's just a versatile as Robert Duvall. Bill K |
Finally watched "Knives Out" on Netflix. One of the better movies I've seen in awhile.
|
The 3 part miniseries "Grant" on the History Channel is excellent
|
The Fly. havnt seen it since i was a teenager. I dont remember it being so gross
|
Saw the re-make of Midway.
It wasn't a waste of time but I think I prefer the original. All except for the actors who played Charlton Heston's kid and his Japanese girlfriend. Musta run out of actor money by the time they cast those two. Like Charles says, turrible turrible. |
Couple options tonight for your viewing pleasure.....
"Harvey"....8pm EST on TCM. Also "Mad Max: Fury Road" at 9pm EST on SyFy. |
^^^^ I never "got" Harvey. Topper I liked but Harvey seemed a bit out there.

But what I really appreciate about the movie is the way it mocks our society. That we do discriminate against people just because they are different. In this case, Elwood P. Dowd, in every capacity, is one of the nicest, most gracious, and considerate persons you'd ever meet. Yet...just because of his belief in Harvey, there are those who would put him away in a sanitarium. I've always been a huge Jimmy Stewart fan too - and I've read that this actually was his fav. movie. Some of the things his character in the movie says actually resemble social commentary than anything else. Elwood P. Dowd: "Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be" - she always called me Elwood - "In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." |
