Bought myself some Unimogs....

As mentioned earlier I got bitten by the Unimog virus. Decided to fly back home last week and get me some. Drove around Europe for a few days, looked at a few dozen Mogs and found some very nice examples.

Since I was using a 40' HC box I decided it would be better 2 get 2 of them to share the shipping expenses, and solve the problem I have with deciding witch one the get.

During the search I came across some accessorizes and parts that could catch a free ride in the seacan. I got everything loaded last Saturday and got back home yesterday.

ETA mid March in Vancouver. Can't wait!

OMG man. I will trade you both my kids for one of your white ones

Stop showing those things guys. Every time I see a pic of a Unimog, I go to my back yard and see how I can get one to the back.

Very cool, I love those things!

How did they fit in the sea can? It looks like there wasn't much clearance on the roof, did you let some air out of tires?

I am amazed at how many Unimog owners are also Porsche owners! I guess we like to go fast as well as slow!

It was a very close fit. We had less than 1" on both sides. The roof did not clear after taking off the wheels. We rolled the unit in on his rotors (they are HUGE, very common when transporting these units) and strapped the box down to compress the springs and create clearance. My buddy crawled out of the cabin from the rear. The green one was a bit easier. Just some air out of the tires did it.

No, its actually a former Army ambulance. I found a ton of those back home. Actually seriously thinking about bringing some here and transfer them into campers. One of my tenants has a RV repair place. Maybe teaming up with him would work. All just ideas for now.

Personal Use. I actually only "need" the green one for on the property, but shipping a 40' unit is almost the same as a 20'. Perfect way to bring the shipping charges down. The white one should be sold but it won't be easy. It's a very cool truck.
