Any sort of time frame on this so I can get a ride? :D

Sadly, buying the car put a huge dent in the savings:(, and don't even have the 3.6 motor yet, so probably a couple of years:rolleyes:

Derek, Here is a photo of my new striped hood, thanks for your pictures. The color is Porsche grauschwarz 7A1 grey black, non metallic with a non metallic grey my painter found that looked appropriate.

That looks great! I really wish I had gone the long hood route with mine but it was a little out of my budget range... Next time :D
Where can we see photos of the rest of your car?

I was thinking of throwing this out on the open forum but thought I'd post it here instead since it relates to my lil' project here.

As you already know, I've been trying to sort out the suspension. During my travels I found out Bilstein shocks and inserts can be rebuilt and/or re-valved. So the search for used donors began...
I was able to practically steel the rear ones (thanks forum) I picked them up for 50 bucks! Off they went to Bilstein in CA where they were rebuilt, shortened (for lowered cars) and custom valved for my cars weight and torsion bar size as well as type of driving. They will even valve them to your specs if you prefer. All told, they cost a tad less than new ones (Elephant pricing)
I have yet to send off the fronts but the total cost should be about the same as new.

This may be old news for some but it took me some searching to find this out. Also notable, Bilstein will be raising their prices after the new year for this service so better be quick! :D

That's it for now... I have a brick walkway to finish.

There is some info about this posted earlier in this thread but I would recommend TRE as most have posted good results with theirs. I used ????? Racing and the fit was beyond horrible! Go back to page 4 or 5 and you'll see what I mean.

I though I was all up to date but I could post a few shots of the rear suspension and brakes. I was waiting for the front to be done but Bilstein still has the front inserts.

On a low note: sadly the missus and I have some personal issues to resolve... Not to despair, the car isn't going anywhere. Point being, this project will have to wait for brighter days.

I have TRE and the fit is excellent (front and rear bumpers for '74+).

High quality build, Mike, thanks for the detailed posts!

sorry, the first time I came across this thread I was on my cell phone, glad I went back and read that, the cost for a shop to correct that would have killed my budget.

one other question, the front lip on the bumper, any more shots of that?

Stunning build and an inspirational thread. Subscribed in a big way!

Sorry to read this... :( Hope you can work things out...

Amazing work.... Good luck with the other half. Subscribed.

Great job! Subscribed/.....

To those who are watching...
Don't give up on me, I always finish what I started, this may take awhile though.
Once my personal situation is resolved, I will continue to post updates... At this point the suspension is nearly finished but not quite!
Hopefully in the spring I will be able to get things rolling, as in wheels, tires and on the ground... Stay tuned!

Great work. I have had my SC for 8 years and between you and Fisfcop I am getting inspired. Love your colour combo too. All the best to the both of you.

Hi Derek --- nice build and great job.

I have the same bumper -- curious if you used a 964 smile for the gap?

thx,

I can confirm that. I asked the same question. He used a 964 bumper smile.

Edit: Adding the part number: 964-505-143-01 (this is for narrow bodied cars)
