Photo Update:

It's rough, but the last fitment has been completed. Tomorrow, I finish the sanding of the flares and add my temporary paint for the track (10 days and counting).

New t-bars and bushings go in tomorrow....

Then ride height, cb and alignment will be performed...

Getting close...

Thanks Mark. As you can see it was dark out. I have not wired the headlights yet (just a connector), but I had to drive it..it's been months...so I took it down the street for grins

It may have been my new seat or my head..but the car did feel light

Looking good Souk. I think I've said it before but you've now got that police car look down to a fine art!

Where's the R taillights? Those'll look great on your car.

Coming together Souk. You're getting there. I think this is one case where your seat of the pants feel is correct (which is a rarity.......... ). It's gotta be lighter. Look how high you're sitting!

Those sixes look like poo up front. The 16x7's are calling your name. Souk............ Soooooouk. Sooooo.....ooooouk! Did you shave or roll those new fender lips? Just curious because I fitted some 17x7.5 wheels (+30mm o/s) with 225/45 tires and they appear to have plenty of clearance inside my shaved fenders with ~ -1 deg. of camber. So I now see how people are able to go bigger -235, 245 series- up front.

Good luck with the rear suspension stuff. Hope it all goes smoothly and your back is up to the task. Should be a bit easier with the lift. You also pulling the bananas to do the inner pivot bushings/monoballs?

Kevin, I'm not doing the banana arm yet. I have some stuff in the works for that..

So what you are telling me is my that butt dyno is well calibrated I couldn't really toss it around much last night w/o headlights, and the hood is still waiting on RSR hood hold downs from TRE so it was doing the PACMAN chomp.chomp. I can't wait to really pull some lateral G's...(Tell the City you'll be sick on the 19th and come give us a hand trackside..hell, bring the Unicorn!)

I managed to take apart the adjustable spring plate I told you about. Piece of cake..since they are off the car, I had to get creative to bust the nuts loose.

Wheels...you remember the BBS' on Pete's car? Should look fine on "Bastard." I needed wider rims and tires, so I bit the bullet and will be picking those up Sat. But those Fuchs are still calling my name....I 'm addicted to that Fuch'in crack! (H doesn't know yet )

Souk :"It's got a flat six moter, a 3 liter plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's got no catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Soukmobile or what? "

Chris:"Fix the cigarette lighter"

What in store for the bananas? Some sort of titanium-molybdenum-tungsten carbide-cobalt-T6061 aluminum forged monoballs?

No headlights, no hood latch, plates are probably expired, .............. you're out of control! Should've at least taped the hood shut man!!!

Told you those plates would be a little stubborn. Now it'll make life easier when setting ride heights and weight balancing. And you got Pete's BBS wheels too? His wheel sales are financing his new rides!!!! Those gold bad boys are gonna stand out nicely on the Bastard. You keeping them gold? All about the bling baby.................

Fuchs are here when you need 'em. Hate to let 'em go, but it's for a good needy cause.

What's the plan for mirrors. I see the doors are still without them. Talbot didn't suit you, so what else is out there from which to choose? Maybe steal a few nice small ones off some local muscle cars?

And keeping the Blues Brothers theme going

Love it! Bernie..and Kevin LOL!!

I didn't go far last night, nor fast..besides''if the hold flipped back...it'd been a good reason for a f-glass hood...anyone want to donate an F-glass hood?

As for the inner b-arm bushing...I was out on my test loop on the Ninja one dark summer night, and a UFO landed in my path. The little green guys came out of it and made me an I couldn't refuse. Funny, the little guys sounded just like the God Father...must be alien sound bite technology. Anyhow, they told me if I backdate my car, I could have their technology. Hey..who could say no to that Funny thing, they told me the material they use for most of their high tech bits and pieces is call....get this!..."Soukaranium!" And they liked my green Ninja

The BBS wheels...no plans to do anything with them yet. I'm going to use them for track wheels. Pete's got the SO3's on them...balanced and ready to go, so it made sense to get them for the 19th with this rush I'm in. Otherwise, I would have to mess with getting new tires, swapping and mounting...to much for me right now. I might get the BBS' power coated black or that cool gun metal grey with just the lips polished for a more menacing look for the track. As for the 7X16 Fuchs...I'm not greatly needy for Fuchs, but as I told Mark, they are needed for Mad Scientist Souk's wheel project...

Mirrors....I'm still undecided. I just can't find anything that will make me happy. I like those Italian 934 mirrors, but I can't find them anywhere

I might just fab a removeable bracket for a 2x4 inch convex race mirror from Pegasus for the driver's side to be legal for the street, then use a Wink mirror for the track.

Just bought a set of the Durant "early 911" mirrors. Hope that they work out but the big "flag" mirrors just would not look right on a backdated car.

Joe, I have a set of Durant mirrors, but I didn't like the way they looked on the car. IMO they break up the lines of the car. So I bought the GT300 mirrors from Pegasus. It's not great, but I'll be using a Wink mirror too, so it is really just to make my car street legal. You can see it in the picture.

Mike, you are welcome to come by and see it anytime.

So! I finished the car (finished enough for the track). A couple of my TV star buddies came by the track to wish me luck..

WOW Ed, I never knew you were going this route! What happened to the RUF bumpers? Are you using fibreglass or steel front fenders? Keep us up to date. I'm very jealous!

Chris the Ruf bumpers will be for sale soon. Since i took my car to the track all i can think off is loosing weight So i got fenders, bumpers and duck in fiber. The hood is a steel 912 hood for now, i will replace that with a fiber one if i loose some more weight in the back of the car.

Cheers,

Ed

Ed, are you ditching the RUF bumper because of wieght? Please explain because I am considering the RUF bumpers, but want to be as light as possible.
