You know catca - I always wonder that. Would people talk as much smack in person than they do on this board? I know there are a few people I would have cold cocked that talked out their a$$ in the past and doubt they would have said those things in person.

Embs - this is nothing directed at you. I agree with you - if you have direct involvement, then you have the right to voice your opinion.

back on topic....Ingo, when you have it all installed and running will you put it on a dyno...interested in the numbers you get from a fresh rebuild (after a break-in period).

Jeremy, I think you are right. That is the problem with a forum or email-you aren't actually having a converstation with a person. No voice intonation and no body language makes it hard to actually communicate effectively. I would bet that most people on here would give you the shirt of their back with no qustions asked, yet sometimes they come across harsher then they really are.

K9handler, we sure will. I hope we get Tyson with a stock 964 and NBD chip, Jack with his 3.6 and NBD chip, Ryan with his 3.6 and NBD chip and my 3.6 with cams and NBD chip to run some comparisons. It would be intersting to see what the different exhausts setups and the cams do for power.

Believe me I can't wait to get to that point with almost 2 month of withdrawl from the beast.

BTW: Even in Boise the weather cleared up today and we had a nice and sunny day with snow-capped mountains in the background. Quite a sight.

What cams did you use and did you get stiffer valve springs?

I know others have had issues, but I chose to buy my engine from Steve Timmins for two key reasons.

1. My engine was installed in his car for 3 months before I bought it. During that time he ran at least one event at VIR and reported excellent results. If there was a problem with the engine, he would have found it in 3 months of use. He also provided photographic evidence of leakdown results prior to packing the engine.

2. He's located in this country (US). Easier to knock on his door if there's unresolved problems, etc. Also, more motivation for him to cut an honest deal. Nothing against Harald, I've heard only good things, and have learned a lot from his posts here...but there's nothing like being able to look a man in the eyes to resolve an issue if necessary.

Worked out well in my case...but I know that others have had issues. Doing this swap involves risk.....period! Each person has to measure that risk and make his/her own decisions. No right answer.

Ingo,

What cams did you end up going with? I haven't decided yet but I'm leaning towards 993ss cams.

I know how you feel, my car has been a$$ high since Thanksgiving....
