I used water repellant on my carbrella as we never know when there will be a summer storm pop up here in the midwest but as a rule Storage Man hit the nail on the head..

As far as leaks one plece to definitely check is at the top edge of the doors where the rear targa seal meets the door seal, the rear targa seal has a tube in it that hooks to the bottom seal and runs the water down and out, if that isnt mated properly the water goes onto the rear floor . I siliconed mine in as sometimes the passenger would dislodge it (or the seat belt would pop it out) Since I secured it I have had no issues..

NOW, this is something I did not know!

I have had the rear targa seal out several times along with the interior
panels and have not seen or noticed any drain... Would you happen to
have a photo of this and where it should be located? I know for sure the
leak in the car is from the rear of the targa top and hoped to find something
before I silicone glued down the rear seal to the targa bar and jointed its
two ends to the side seals.

Sorry this takes away from the fun of all the great photo's. Surely someone
other than me will gain from knowing these things.

Thanks,
Scott

Couple of quick shots of the area that leaks when not connected, I discovered it after washing my car..I opened the passenger door and was met with a stream of water! it at about Tw0o oclock from the trim screw, where the two seals meet, my pics show it properly positioned

Here is a better shot, there is a bit of a "nozzle" that goes from the door seal into the targa seal

Nozzle? pretty sure that goes in on top of the door seals... it marries the 2 seals (front targa bar seal and door seal) together.

I don't understand the use of nozzle in this context... However, I think the targa seal and door seal are joined by adhesive. I don't recall there being a mechanical connection between the two. I have both seals new sitting in my basement if you need a photo.

By nozzle I meant a "teat" or ...ahem..male protrusion..... that fits one seal into the other,

New Picture

New picture of my Targa on my first 1000km trip in Germany this weekend. New tires, winding roads, beautiful weather and no traffic!
