I know I stole the backdating thread title, but I feel Targas have such a bad rap and need to band together and show some solidarity.

From Monterey a few weeks ago. Nothing better than a Targa for an evening shoreline cruise.

Had some pics of my lightweight '74 up a couple of years ago when I first got the car, but now with the 3.6 '95 motor, Setrab oil cooler up front, 3.2/Turbo oil cooler in right front fender, cat-delete, straight-thru muffler, (louder than the Hubs of Hel, but I'm learning to live with it)
) etc,

How does your targa ride with the big (torsion bars)? Both targa's I've had (78 sc and 72 t that is more like an 85 RS now) quite bouncy with 21mm / 27mm torsion bars. I do like my good sized adjustable sway bars on my 72 t right now.

TIA,

Scott

You need to match the shocks to the bars. Bilsteins custom-valved is the good setup.

Are custom-valued more expensive than the sport valving? I think HD would be too stiff...

Cost of shocks, or existing shocks-add $100-120 per for Bilstein to valve.

Not bad, a little stiff going over a bump as you can imagine, but the roads around here (Coeur d'Alene area in North Idaho) are very well maintained actually, so the big bars are easy to live with,

However if "bouncy" is a problem for you, sounds like shocks, but perhaps start a thread at the tech forum as I am no expert,
