You should also post this in the "right stance" picture thread.

And another Canadian targa...
Here's my recently acquired 1980 SC, my first Porsche. It's loud, cantankerous and smells a bit, and I love it! The previous owner had taken good care of it, but he just wasn't driving it much, so an opportunity to own a car I've admired since childhood suddenly arose. I had been looking at other, newer sports cars in this price range, but when I found out about this one, they were all swept aside.
It was given a thorough going-over by an air-cooled specialist in my area. The car has a few issues, but now we know what they are, and I was able to get a fair price as a result. I love the open-air feeling with the targa top. Looking forward to lots of summer driving fun with this one. John

Hey Sputnik,
Welcome to the PP board, and welcome to the very exclusive Lagoon Green Targa club (Mine is an '87)! Is that a child seat in the back of yours, and if so, what kind are you using and how do you have it secured? Still trying to figure out a solution for my 3 year old who loves Porsches! Thanks for posting a pic, love it!

Hi 65_Lincoln, I didn't know this is such an exclusive color. Anyway I love the color. The interior leather is grey-olive. What's yours? You have a pic?
It is a child seat for my 3,5 year old son. It is a Recaro Milano and is fastened with the standard 3-point seat belt. If possible I will post a picture of it installed in the car, but it will be in the weekend I suppose. FYI, he loves the Porsche also. Although the heavy sound of the flat6 brings him to sleep easily. |

Thanks Sputnik, my interior is black leather. I will have to dig up a pic.
I guess that either the '88 had 3 point belts, or they were installed later, my '87 only has the 2-point lap belt with the inertia reel, which won't hold a car seat well enough. I have to pull out the rear shelf to see if I have the mounting point for a 3 point belt (I think it might?) and then try to source a belt for it. If you wouldn't mind sending me a pic of the seat by PM, I'd appreciate seeing your setup, but it might be a bit off-topic for this thread. Thanks!

Wow, hope they increased the hp and torque for that wide of rubber in back. Also, I hope they have a good amount of protection on the front of those pretty rear flares...
