Any of you Targa Junkies notice the recent, strong, uptick in values !?

What size of wheels? What type of seats? What colour? How did you go from the black targa bar to yours metal look?

Hey guys!

I was looking everywhere for a decently clean 964 Targa, but had no idea they were so rare. During my search, this '86 showed up locally, a day later it was in my garage.

Transmission was recently redone, new paint, everything is there and it runs great. I think it does need a speed sensor adjustment though. I have put maybe 3,000 miles on the car though.

Excited to learn all that I can from the group and to see all of your cars as well!

I don't really pay attention to values except for once a year when I renew my classic car insurance But, I have noticed a whole lot more interest from people at cars and coffee events. Including some who I know in the past thought only coupes were "real" 911s.

I also had a dealer/broker recently try to convince me to sell him my Targa and "trade-up" to a 964 coupe. Proof he knows he has willing buyers for Targa's.

No matter. My Targa is not going anywhere. I'm keeping it. If they go out of fashion again in a few years or if values yo-yo it won't bother me. I'll be too busy driving to notice.

I was never a targa fan in the past, but now that I've had this car for the past few months, the bodystyle has really grown on me. There's not much of a performance penalty at street speeds. And living in SoCal makes having an open top car almost reasonable.

Fikse 8et29 215/45 17 front, 9et17 245/40 17 rear.

BF Torino Nurburgring seat.

Granite green

Sent the Targa bar out to strip the black, did the brushed stainless finish at first, in the end decided to go with Cerakote

Per Panorama a few issues back my '78 Targa in #3 condition is $38K.

Add 25% for rare color and 5% for bright trim.

I might up my Hagerty coverage.

Always good to hear and a good idea. I've been told more than once from used car dealers that targas are not as valued as coupes.

From a last monday drive when I was dropping my ballot off enjoying the fall colors.
