dansk exhaust headers vs b&b headers

which are better for a 3.2 carrera motor?

From what I have seen if you want to go the Dansk route, I would get the SSI's instead. They appear to be of better quality. However, they are a tad small for a 3.2, but I have them on mine. The B&B headers, at 1 5/8 are a better size. Just do not use their mufflers.

so maybe a combination of b&b headers and some other exhaust?
are the headers bad quality or just the mufflers from b&b?

B&B headers are too big for a stock 3.2 motor. My 3.2 with 1 1/2" headers and my own exhaust gets 219rwhp. plus I have a nice torque curve(see below). B&B mufflers have a 100% failure rate so I would steer clear. Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers, James

Paul, Dansk makes great stuff. Do you know what size their primaries are? Also, what do you plan on doing with your car, track, DE street?

Cheers, James

Ps. Are you a CVR member? I am. Hope to see you at Limerock!!

James, I have no idea what primaries are. sorry, I am not much of a mechanically minded person. so far as i know the motor is stock 3.2 carrera. it was not the original motor in my car though. i have this 1975 911s that I am going to make into a RS clone. I definitely plan to take it out on the track and hopefully can make some of the cvr meets at limerock as well. I have been a club member since september when i bought the car.

Paul, Nice car! Sorry about the tech stuff. The primaries are the tubes that run out of the motor and back to the muffler. I will see if I can dig up some infor on the Dansk ones and I'll let you know.

Definitely plan on doing some DE's. CVR runs a great event and the folks who go are super nice. Watkins Glen is another great track so keep that in mind since the LRP events fill up fast!!

Cheers, James

I just talked to my mechanic about the b&b headers. what if we used those headers and had a different muffler for them?
maybe a dual outlet straight out the back?

I use B&B headers with a Flowmaster muffler. It's great for a 3.6, but would be too big for a 3.2. Why aren't you running the Carrera exhaust? The 3.2 motor doesn't benefit a whole lot from the commonly-available aftermarket headers, unless you're modifying the motor. The hot setup for Carreras is to change to the Euro premuffler and put in a chip.

euro premuffler? I am putting a chip in as soon as it arrives. probably tomorrow or the next day. I had no idea that the b&b headers were too big for my motor.

The B&B's will kill the midrange on a stock motor as I said before due to their size. Many of them also had fitment problems where they wouldn't allow the valve covers to be removed. This made valve adjustments a real PITA. It sounds like you still want heat so full headers aren't an option. PM me if you have any questions.

Cheers, James

As has been mentioned B&B 1.75" will be too big for a street 3.2, they do makke a 1.625" which would be appropriate. B&B make good headers, the problem is they use a proprietary spacing which means you need to use either their cr***y mufflers or a custom one like many of us have.

I agree w/ Jack that unless you have better cams a euro premuffler would be a better solution. Lots cheaper too.
