Forget about the resistor! I wrote up howto modify the Heater Relay Controller so you can run the front blowers without the Rear Blower installed.

this can connect between the left side heat socket to the exsisting heat exchanger pipe if not using SSI's.

Here's another idea for the right side to clear the AC Bracket. I made this from the existing right side block off tin. Simply cut it and Epoxyed a PVC elbow then I'll use the narrow hose with adapter to goto large size hose on the end.

I have a stock 1987 3.2 - Stock heat exchangers. I want to backdate the heat on the left side only and keep my A/C intact. I have the left side ducting and I was wondering how many feet of heater hose I should order to make the connection from the left duct to the left side cross over heater pipe. I would prefer to order it for the correct length so I don't have to deal with cutting the hose.

Hey, I recognize that pic ! I've ordered from aircraftspruce.com (as I tried several of theirs, but didn't like the "look"), so I wouldn't worry about ordering the "exact" length as it's very easy to cut and customize to fit. I don't know if 1' is sufficient (probably close) but 2' will give you plenty to waste. The hose pictured is sourced from Pelican and the part #s are listed in the thread I've referenced above. Hope this helps...

how hot witll the hose get? Does it need a specific heat rating? It seems like the pipe connected to the exchahngers must get some heat transfer to the hose.

The hose you choose should obviously be heat-rated. Remember it's connected to the shrouding of the exhaust system. But the pipe is isolated from getting super hot by some rubber and silicone hose couplings, so it doesn't get as hot as the surface temp of the exhaust manifolds themselves.

And by the way the Napa oil filter is actually a good filter. So is a Wix which Napa typically carries. I know most people think the Mahle is the end-all be-all of filters. But there's other good ones out there. Mobil 1 and K&N are good too. Sal, what kind of air filter is yours? It looks a little better than the POS $25 (I know- get what you pay for) eBay thing I bought for grins.

Hmm...that's the correct part # as I looked up my previous orders. I don't know why it's not showing up on a search, maybe it has something to do with Wayne's recent removal of the parts diagrams, etc. You could always call Pelican. Here's a "copy" from my order (but that was over 5 years ago):

Yeah. Wayne previously could not copy Porsche's part numbers. So he had to use a letter system to replace 911, 930, 901, 964, 999, etc. I just guessed a few times at the first three digits and found 901 was the correct match.

Cool, ordering today. KC911, how did you connect it to the cross over pipe? Did you re-use some of the parts? Did you just insert the hose into the cross over pipe?

I reused everything, but I don't want to make it sound "too simple", as it was a PITA to get that "stiff hose" to bend accordingly and mate up with the "cross over pipe" that protrudes through the engine tin. I don't think (in fact, I KNOW) I couldn't have done it without having everything "loosey goosey" (including a partial engine drop) and slowly working it back together...there isn't much clearance to get the hose in place. That would be one benefit the the various SCEET, SCAT selections as they are a LOT more flexible, but I just didn't care for the appearance.

ps: Kevin, I hear ya on the NAPA filter....might be a great filter, but it still says NAPA

That setup is using a 930 left hand hot air duct, the black hose is part # 901.211.195.00 that Kevin referenced above, and the rubber boot/clamps are stock Carrera items that originally connected the blower fan's plastic air duct to the stock crossover heat tube. Thanks for that factory comment...I take that as a real compliment .

Kevin (Craver), is that hose made of plastic or fiber? I'm using a (fiber) 914 heater hose and it won't bend that well, so here's my setup until I find a better one.
