Me too brother, me too....in the mean time.
I will just try and enjoy the 74 as much as I can. Once the last two kids are through collage, I will try and make it happen for me...until then, 70's technology will have to do (not that it is so bad either)..... |
You need to be on the Autobon to fully enjoy that ride but, if it was sitting in my garage...that would work too :-)

Ahh...I love my old car. I just wish I had a newer Porsche to compliment it. This'd do... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1127999841.jpg |
Great pics, Doug. It looks a little better with the running lights illuminated. I want one now, and this is coming from a guy who loves the utility of the jump seats in the 911. OTOH, I guess I could justify the utility of the hatch. I want one now.

I'll trade my part ownership of my Cessna 172 for it, but I dont think my buddy would go for it....sahme, I think the Porsche is actually faster....

This is my favorite pic and on my desktop now:

Room for my big drawing boards? If the car is worth half it's original price in five years (as with most cars), will I be able to get one in five years? Thinking, thinking. |
The only thing I don't like about the Cayman is that I can't afford it. (Man I need to change jobs)
I know in four or five years I can afford a used one, but I am worried about the mid-engine "extra fee for service" syndrome. When I was younger my mom drove a Toyota MR2. Whenever she took it in for regulary scheduled maintenance, the MR2 was always charged a lot more. (The discount coupons always had the disclaimer: excludes MR2) I gave up trying to do it myself as that engine was a bastard to access. This is a new coupe from Porsche since 944 or 928--it's exciting. |
I agree, it appears to be a Race Car for the street, sure looks fast
|
Now you made me do it.....
This will convert the naysayers.... This is something we got our hands on a few weeks ago.... Anyone know the driver? Turn the Volume UP! http://www.plavanracing.com/media/cayman_s.wmv ****PLEASE RT. CLICK AND SAVE AS**** (Because I know you are going to watch it over and over :) ) |
Oh baby!!! More!! More!! More!!
...must...win...lottery... |
OK..now I have to change my underwear...I think I freaked out with myself.
Amazing, I too..need to hear more, damn it sounded great |
Cool sound track, maybe they are marketing to the guys who can afford one in five years after all. Helps the resale values and thus trade-in's too.
|
Nope, still doesn't do it for me....sorry guys.
|
Thats OK...it always about Choice...as it should be, just different, that's what makes it all so cool...choice..blond, redhead or what ever...choice
|
I like the style but Porsche has not corrected the design flaw of a poorly supported crank. The latest water cooled Porsche will most likely suffer from the same rear mainseal leak all the Boxsters and 996 (and probably 997s) suffer from.
That sucks, Troy |
I like the car, as I like the 997... but I am a one car man.
I really would not drive it. Right now I am in love with my car and I drive it everyday. A cayman would just be a substitute... I would need something completely different to leave one in the garage... |
