Just found out the 356 NE group is having a meetup sunday AM 8/16/09 in Charlestown RI, cruising out to Mystic CT for a cookout of sorts.

I'm just gonna swing by the rendezvous spot (Ninigret park/Charlestown chamber of commerce building area) around 9 or so. Not going on the drive but might be nice to check out some cool cars.

Just a heads up for SE CT/RI/SE MA folks.

I think I saw you heading N on RT1 around 9?
I went to the spot and no cars showed. A friend did some recon, called me and said he saw a bunch of them heading to Kettle Pond visitors center, so I went over there and there they were.

They must have changed the meetup spot at the last second.

I did not go on the cruise/ensuing cookout, but got to meet some of the folks and check out the cars, including a 56 speedster, 71? S, 67 normal with twin plug 2.7, a couple of SWB 912s, 911SC, a 550 replica, a new GT3, and several 356s, cab and coupe.

This Sat. and Sun. is the Equinox Mtn. Vintage Hillclimb in Manchester Vt. A few of us are heading there on Sat. VSSCA is putting on the event all pre '59 cars - looks to be a great time.

Nope, but I know alex from DP, and his events always get the NICE high end cars... like the new Audi A8 W12, Ferraris, Bimmers, Lambos, etc. Nice cars, but sometimes the kids in the group attract attention of the unwanted LEO kind when they do fun runs...

Was involved in one back in '05 where 60+ of us went from Braintree Mall to the Flying Bridge... Staties went through the rest stop where we were gassing up & let us know they "had no problem ruining our day"...

I am looking for another car and am hoping that you might be willing to help in my search. I'm seeking a 3.2L G50 coupe or a 92+ 964 C2 Coupe. I'd also consider a 90-91 if the top end issues have been resolved. Since use will be primarily street, with 6-12 DE days per year (in yellow run group, at tracks like Watkins Glen, Lime Rock Park, etc.) I'm open to a car that has had some "street +" mods to suspension and/or engine.

If you know of anyone who is either selling or contemplating selling one of these cars, please let me know.

I know this is not the year that your looking for but I would seriously consider this unique car.

1979 911SC 3.6, Green/black, Boston, MA

Andrew Conti sent me this link yesterday and knows the seller quite well. Although I have a soft spot for the Long Nose 911's this Oak Green SC with a 3.6 is absolutely stunning! Most people wouldn't consider this color but it's one of my favorites.

The seller is a local guy too.

I plan to attend the NER 50th Anniversary Concours d'Elegance in Newport this Saturday. I will park my 84 TL in the Porsche only parking, easy to spot, it's a 84 Silver Cab with RI Antique Plates.
