Anyone Running a Tranny Temp Gauge
Looking for a method to install a transmission temperature gauge. Anyone done this and if si, what gauge and sender?

Well, not on my P car but I do on my Dodge truck. Got it from Genosgarage.com. You would have to have the case drllled and tapped for the sender but dunno why it wouldn't work.

Jack, noticed the cylinder head temp gauge. Can you provide some detail of the head temperatures under a variety of conditions. I question the accuracy of mine (possible sensor problem) especially at higher temperatures. At 75degF ambient, stop start traffic can get to 400degF, on a "long" track 480degF on a 90degF ambient.

trans gauge
i use the clock location for a stock appearing oil temp and trans oil temp gauge. i had a regular 911 dual function gauge converted by n hollywood speedometer. i drilled the transmission filler plug for 1/8 pipe thread and use a vdo sending unit. there is a picture of my gauges in the very recent post regarding steering wheels...page five with fittipaldi steering wheel.

I replaced my speedo with another oil pressure/temp gauge.
Then I took an engine temp sender, drilled and tapped the fill plug, and installed the sender in it. I then ran a wire from the sender to one of the old speedo wires, and attached the other end to the new oil temp gauge. I plan to use the extra pressure gauge for fuel pressure. Anyway, that's my zero-dollar solution, since I had all the parts left over. I may start a thread on this with pics if I can find my dang camera.

Cool, thanks. I need to get under there and take a look because the fill plug just doesn't seem big enough to hold the sender. Hopefully I am wrong.
