I thought the same thing. What really caught my eye was the rear axle The bolts, boot etc. look to be the same on a run of the mill 911. All that power going thru the same CV??

Interestng comments about the 308. I met someone who was really interested in my prestine very original 81 928S. We traded cars for an hour and took them for spins on the 405 (near Carlsbad). Afterwards, he was ready to trade (with some cash from me) and I said no. The 308 was very unimpressive and really made me appreciate the 928 - 16 valve (5 speed).

With a purchase like that....you are forgiven. I too love the ferrari 308...but you can never replace the stink or feel of a 911, let alone a 959..Ive only seen two in person and that was at the rennsport reunion and 1 on the road. Good luck and WELCOME BACK

Supercool Wayne. This beats the 308 hands down. You're my hero. MIT, cool, successful business, and a 959. Makes me feel pretty darn small.

hi Wayne!
OUTSTANDING ! thread, and purchase! i will miss you on FerrariChat, but whatever you have is contagious. i bought a 89 Lotus Esprit SE and a 89 911 Carrera 25th Anniversary car in black metallic on Monday of this week, and have been ordering small things for it from Pelican parts. i have always held the 959 in some mystic, surreal fog. i am ecstatic you have one, and will share some of its magic with us. my hat is off to you sir, Michael M. "THECARREAPER" . |

I look forward to reading your driving impressions in the future. Beautiful machine. Although we have never actually met, can I say now that I have a friend who drives a 959?
ps - I think this thread must be setting some kind of record for fastest growth - we are all so excited to congratulate you!
