Given how this whole saga has gone...if I was to lay odds, I am betting on a Carrera Speedster. Make sure these guys buy a couple PowerBall tickets, the fickle finger of fate sure is treating them well lately... This story will make a great article at some point...

On a somewhat related note , I spotted this uber rare (1 of 3 surviving (out of five built) Porsche yesterday , a block from my workplace. Unfortunately I didn't get to see it race!

From the Targa website

Porsche 356B Carrera 2000GT ‘Dreikantschaber’ – or ‘DKS’ for short – was named after its peculiar wedge‐shaped styling, which literally translated from German means ‘three‐pointed scraper’

Powered by a 1966cc development of the famous Type 547 boxer four cam, four‐cylinder engine designed by Professor Ernst Fuhrmann for the original Porsche 550 Spyder back in 1953, the DKS was made for road rallies just like Targa Tasmania

Thanks for posting this video! I just love to see cars, especially rare cars, being driven the way they were designed to be driven. To see this out on the streets putting the pedal to the metal is the way it is supposed to be. Could something happen? Possibly, but so what? It is a car after all, and is performing its designed function. I don't know if it is driven like that only once a year or only for this video, or what, but it is awesome to see. As someone on this board said 'Why are you saving it for the next owner?'

I just finished an 18 month restoration on my 69 MGB, and someone asked if I will drive it now , or shelter it and drive it only occasionally. I said it will be driven as much as possible! The more bugs on it, the better. In fact I drove it to work today.
I just hate to see awesome cars turned into garage queens.

Yes, that is a 587/3 4-cam in the 904.
A solid 210 hp @ 7100 rpm.
I even drove it to King Soopers (Kroger) periodacally.

The engine makes progress.
Last week we packed it up in a borrowed Toyota (Borrowed from another Pelican – exchange for my 911SC)
