Jeff,
Next time you're in the area, you are welcome to stop by and see where all the garage fires start.

Hey all, that is awesome! I have some questions if you donīt mind:

Is there a common plenum for the IAC on the Triumph ITBīs?

Are you driving the car?

Great work, AAA!!!

Best regards

Tiago

turkey day fire up

2 7 racer Colo 014 - YouTube

I had a little time today before the T'day festivities started and got my latest Speed Triple kit fired up. After a bit of fine tuning it's headed to Colorado to it's new home in a 911 track car.

Let us give thanks......................

regards,
Al

Nice, If you weren't 5 hours north of me I'd be stopping by and oogling.
Too bad I didn't have a 911 when I lived in Blaine 5 yrs ago....
We need to chat about your kit some time. (Or at least I need to ask some questions...)

021414 batch 004 - YouTube

........firing up another retro-cool EFI/ITB kit. This is actually the 1st kit I made. i recently refurbed it, new PMO intake manifolds, etc and installed it on my test engine (2.7 w/SC cams) I've fired it up for the 1st time today and, while it does need to be dialed in and the ITBs need balancing....it does fire right up and sounds strong.

regards,
al

My partner has a 1997 Triumph Speed Triple 885cc aluminum frame. It's got a full factory carbon fiber kit, and it is pretty bad a$$. He thinks that it's the $%*t that it spits fire out of the under seat exhaust. I think there's something wrong with it, but he won't listen to me. It's too much motorcycle for the average person though.

Very cool!
regarding your engine, does it have CIS pistons with the SC cams? I've always wondered how this would feel/perform...as my car has CIS on it, but stock '77 S cams.

Greetings,
It does have CIS pistons with SC cams (regrind) I bought this engine, in this configuration, to use as a test mule for my different efi designs...so it has only been on the engine test stand....no seat time, but I've included a link to a thread that covers this configuration.

SC cams in a 2.7S. An observation.

regards,
al

3.0 EFI/MFI/ITB w/megasquirt

This is my latest EFI project. This was originally an engine in one of my friends early 911s. i knew this to be a good running engine, but, he found that it had two broken head studs and decided to trade up to a 3.2. I decided to buy it and when i dragged it home, I performed a leak-down test The results were as follows:

1 = 2%
6 = 4%
2 = 16%
4 = 12%
5 = 6%
3 = 1%

Hmmmmm.......I tore into the top end, cleaned and visually inspected all parts, measured P&C's, valves, guides, ring clearance, etc. Everything was in spec (low to no wear) and, other than the broken head-studs... in really good shape. I refurbed the top end, de-carboned the pistons and valves/seats, lapped the valves/seats back in, all steel studs, new gaskets, sealed it up and installed my EFI stuff. After wiring and plumbing....it fired right up. I ran it for about 30 minutes to ensure the rings would seat, etc and ran another leak-down test.

The new leak-down test results are as follows:

1 = 1%
6 = 2%
2 = 2%
4 = 2%
5 = 2%
3 = 1%

Those are the leak-down numbers you want...like a new engine.

I spent a few hour today, tuning with Megasquirt.....working on the start & idle.

Here's a link to a video.....of today's work.

Check out the intake....Aluminum turbo spacers, machined for EFI injectors. on top of those are some aluminum spacers that I fitted with vacuum fittings..... on top of those, i'm using MFI t'bodies that I bored out to match the 3.0 large ports, and to top it all off ....some beautiful stax...............listen.....it is close to being done.

regards,
Al

Michelko, is the FP check valve installed and working correctly? Have you verified the fuel regulator pressure?
