Very nice project!
|
With your vision, thoroughness, level of attention, and high standard of craftsmanship, my friend - have you given any thought to doing this on a full time basis? I'm sure you'd have a waiting list on potential clientele... Keep on with the good work - its beyond first rate!

@ Walt : "holes of the cash deck" is not the good word you knowit, i have search the real word for this in pelican and i think the good word is "Lower Side Rocker Cover" and in the car you have hole for the screw of this part and because we have no need of this part we will have to erase this hole
@Otto : i'm just a little guy who have pleasure to realize his dream of RSR with not a lot of money, but lots of idea and DIY ;) . My two friend JF and Fab are real artist of car and metal job, and i sure one day they will mounting their own "garage" and can make lots of good job for lots of person. @All the another fellow : thanks for th read of my post and your support |

|
Very nice. Where are the fenders/wings/flares from? GT Racing?
I think Voekler and Roland did very well, especially considering team Europcar was a "wild card" entry. |
They come from deutschland , f-s-h .

Yesterday evening as it worked me I looked of more meadows at the assembly of wings.
Two famous parts R and L, which I planned to sell, are thus going to stay on Froggy to finish but it's going to need to cut them a big piece to each. I am just going to cut after the bolt to fix the bowl of headlight (in metal and of brand Dansk) http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/2738/carross62.jpg Then assembly of the internal cheek http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/1611/carross63.jpg It will be necessary to stick the wing above Then assembly and in the final it is very clean, only two place must be a little modified http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/1083/carross64.jpg A bump of fiber before the hole of lived that it's going to need to sand to level. http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/4239/carross65.jpg The outside edge of the side wing support to level also a little Otherwise that should make it. I do not know how he make their mould but we see the good place of holes |
So the bolt holes line up well but the panel gaps need some filling and sanding.
Are the yellow "famous parts" that you are going to cut the bumper brackets? |
Wings are not fixed, just put. After the holidays I am going to fix the whole, and I would take back with some picture, the distance will not be any more there.
The yellow legs, go to be cut by the party which was fixed on bellows of the old impact bumpers. And i must cut it because if i do not i can't take the indicator light in this place. i have received the new chronometer and will just finish the support. http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/1359/chrono5.jpg Now next news in the end of August Month, good holiday to all of you and your familly ;) SmileWavy |
Hello Guys, i'm back from holiday, and which says "back from holiday" said "already begin the work on Froggy".
Thus I have begin slowly. I continued by painting of the supports of seats http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/3662/ete20112.jpg And fixed rails on the automobile (by having taking care of concealing everything) http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/5897/ete20115.jpg What makes that the inside is close to the end. I found my red pull " Fire " and I am soon going to order it. Then will stay the sky of roof and the parts of imitation leather of the amounts of car doors and it is everything (finally until the next idea in ....... :) !!!). As I found of the ribbon " dymo " I was able to make my labels http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/1216/ete20113.jpg And set up them http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/2927/ete20114.jpg Then I got down to the adjustment of wings and hood before.... http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/5474/ete20116.jpg http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/7166/ete20117.jpg And there I have some big doubt on several point, so i think this job will be not so funny. but when we have to go ...... we must go ! |
:)
|
nice project.
I did not see your final answer on this, is the fit of the fiberglass panels good? I purchased some fiberglass items in the past and it was disgusting how bad the fit was. I am also building a RSR body but I decided to use the original steel fenders and have turbo flares welded in...... |
Hi Herman
All the manufacturers of fibers are not identical, some parts are very thick with very beautiful finishes of the other one are very fine without any reinforcement and with very bad finishes, it is necessary to read a lot to have experience feedback of the other fellows. For me some part are second-hand thus already gone up and adjusted, there no problems, the fenders and rear bumpers are new and fenders a little of work but not too much. The new parts were ordered in Germany because you have very good parts in United States but with the transport and tax, finally the prices are 1.5 or 2 times more expensive while cheaper on the base!!! the dream is to use all parts in steel but the final price is very different. you have a thread for your RSR Build ? |
where are the fenders from? sorry if i missed that
|
Jim,
the rear ar steel turbo fender made by dansk (and sell by all good porsche part society ... like pelican) the front come from deutschland , from society FSH (FSH - GFK Leichtbauteile passend für Ihren Porsche) |
