Rear camber eccentric up or down?
When adjusting rear tire camber, what gives you the most POSITIVE camber, eccentric bolt lobe up or down? Should the eccentric bolt in the slot be in the most forward or rearward position?
My car sits fairly low and I'm wearing out the inside edges of my tires significantly more than the outside edges (too much negative camber). After reading a number of threads, I got tired of reading and not finding an answer to this question. Thanks

The eccentric part that fits into the hole in the trailing arm has to be turned downwards to push down and rotate or twist the arm to give you more positive camber at the wheel.
The offset bolt part that goes through the springplate will be opposite that or towards the top in it's range. negative camber is opposite all that. |

Well it depends on it's orientation, I would not depend on the eccentric bolt but on the suspension arm where the plate moves up and down. You see, the eccentric has a Peak point then goes the other way if you can manage to turn that far, almost impossible. From what you wrote, I don't think you want more Camber so, you will not need to be concerned by that. If you did, placing a jack under it will help get you a bit more camber before you lock it up.
Scribe the side ways U, the plates design is that between the two rear lock 19MM bolts/nuts creates the "U" as shown in the Bentley guide. First spray some primer, let it dry then use a sharpie to Scribe the inside of the spring plate. Remove all pre-load from that side, unbolt drop link to sway bar, remove lower strut bolt then Loose the two rear bolts just before they get floppy then the Toe Eccentric then the Camber Eccentric. Use a 12MM Allen Wrench and for better leverage a 12MM Wrench and turn the allen bolt to the left or right and watch the U to see if it goes up or down. If up you are getting more Camber, Down = Less. Caveat, this will also effect the TOE settings. You need to visualize a Diagnal (sorry spell check broken) Movement. Sounds more like a Toe issue on tire wear. How much Camber and Toe do you have there? Hope this helps, Jim

Thanks Jim and JF. Good explanation Jim saying to examine what happens to the U. Turns out I had put it up before, but this time I moved it down. I also put a bubble level to see what was happening as I turned the eccentric bolt in the rear.

I know it is tricky trying to look at the eccentric and the "U" at the same time. It is said to mark a line to the plate on the eccentric to give you a good orientation than burn the visual Scribe on the U while you move to the desired position. I also found the eccentric have a bit of play so not a great source to depend on. Jim
