Trials and tribulations of 2011 and Porsche ownership...

What do you get when you add a freak snowstorm and a bit of bad planning? A roof that gets clobbered by a huge maple branch. Aye chivato! That hurts.

That happened last October when trees, still hanging on to their leaves, couldn't handle the weight of all that heavy snow. As a result, I had to repair and paint the entire roof area. Nothing else could possibly happen, right? Wrong.

Bringing the car back from the second paint job on the roof (first one didn't match properly) the tow truck driver somehow manages to damage a rear wheel opening lip. Are you kidding me? Okay, now I have to have the damage fixed and paint the entire quarter. That pretty much excluded me from using the hot rod during the mild winter we enjoyed here in the Northeast.

But, everything is as it should be now and we're ready for Spring and looking forward to tearing up a few roads with some friends. Actually, we already have!

Too bad about the damage, Mark! Glad it was fixable (everything is fixable...just takes enough time and money!

Thanks for posting some photos. I love all the little details on your car. Nice to see a 'done' car in the endless slog of a full blown disassembly. . .

Mark,
I have the feeling that if you look up the meaning of patina on Wikipedia.....there will just be a picture of that steering wheel. Sweet!

regards,
al

It is done. And I have to admit, the 15s really make the look.

Great photos at Willow Mark! Sad I missed the trip. I wanted to put some paw prints on your car and get a close look at your hot rod!

Rich's car is also superb and from what I can tell thoroughly enjoyed by Rich. I had the pleasure of riding up above the hills of Laguna Seca in that car with Rich at the helm and all I can remember is Rich laughing (giggling? =) as we dove from apex to apex and over each bump...er jump in the road. Good times.
